Do you think they'll get the paint job close? This one is highly detailed, and much of those details are soft edged. I've noticed Predator stuff tends to end up more hard edged in production, like edges on the spots on the body, over the prototype. The softness of the skin tones on this is looks so nice in the pictures, I'd hate for it to get lost in production.

I think stuff like that getting lost in translation is going to be hard to avoid unless they change the way they do things. I'm sure the proto paint uses many more shades and highlights along with wet blending etc.

Hmmmmmm. This could be my first Predator. I think this looks Awsome. I wish it was 1/4 scale or at least as big as a PF. 21 inch including base would have been nice. I just don't know.

Either way I think this is one of the best Predators SS has ever done.

That remains to be seen. I have it on order though and hope that the production pieces turn out at least 90% as good as the prototype.

Looking at the photos I am seeing different formats on the materials. EG: The wraps around he arms, appear to be fabric, and the netting appears to be a separate element than the sculpt. Any thoughts?

It's all poly stone just really good sculpting and painting on the proto. I agree it looks really good

Wow your not kidding! Well if Sideshow can nail it, then this will be their best Predator yet. So lets all hope that those overseas painters are practicing early!

How do folks like this compared to the P1 statue? I like this one but don't care for the way P1 looks. It would have been nice to order both in the same format. How do you think this will look displayed with the LSB?

Specs indicate that this piece is 19" tall.
The base itself looks to be at least 3".
That means the predator itself is around 16" tall, maybe.

So, SilentSurfer is correct. This predator is something like 1:5.5 scale.

Also, no mention or confirmation of a mandible ring.

Couple that with the fact that the wrong sword was used.

Regretfully, I'll pass.

i like the 1/5 classic better, dont understand how folks can choose this over it, is it purely because of the character? Also the 1/5 classic ex has a lot more stuff - an alternate head and a bloody skull that somewhat justifies the $300 price tag. The ex for this is pretty lame. To each his own i guess...

And i agree it's pretty stupid to release all those predators in 1/5 while releasing a 1/4 dutch. What is sideshow thinking, hate to say it but rather they made dutch 1/5 too if they wont make the preds 1/4. At least then they will be same scale and can be displayed together. Not sure what the heck i am going to do now with a giant dutch and a small pred....
