Do they? Thought all their distributed products were retail.

Local retailer carries CP stuff so deffo in unless they take the piss on price.
$1,200 - 1,500 is my guess. £1,000 is probably my cut off point... Would be gutted then.

as long as the price is the same, i'm down.

Screw that - these clowns no longer deserve ANY of our money - and (as I said before) I will TOTALLY spend more for this item off someone else in order to guarantee they get less money out of me.

They treat their customers with disdain & derision, pulling a "used car saleman" & "bait & switch" routine with almost 100% consistency.

As posted on another board - I TRULY cannot wait for Snideshow to go under so other companies can fill the void.

.

Sideshow ain't going under anytime soon. I would be surprised if they didn't make more money than 3-5 top collectible companies combined.

Their "Making more money" - the "it's all that matters" quest for increased profit margins - is what has resulted in pathetic product delivery & QC.

Great for their shareholders & board members - not so good for the collectibles community.

Anyone who defends them these days has their heads up their arses.

Not saying it will happen, but you'd be surprised to know how quick things can twist for big companies.
BTW, Sideshow can indeed jack up the retail price when distributing. They do it all the time with Hot Toys, and if you do the Yen-USD conversion, they did it also with CoolProp's biomasks.
I'm wondering if it would worth the time to ask them to sell directly and have their future orders spread by retailers that ship international.

The more I look at this piece the more I need it!!!! After close examining though... The dreads definitely need a bit of refining... Some of the dreads look like they 'sunk and sagged' whilst molding?

I agree with you, as the majority of their products no longer appeal to me. It's not their business practices that have turned me off, it's the majority of their designs and offerings that i feel aren't worth the money. I'm not talking about the sculpts, as it's clear the sculpting is as good or better than it's ever been.

it would be interesting if and when Sideshow goes under. I don't see that happening anytime soon. It would be interesting to examine their balance sheet.

You should quit the forum dood... You're supporting them by being here... :wave

I think if you click on the ads at the top that link you to SS page they get something but otherwise I believe you are correct.

It costs them money when people read bad reviews and don't order or cancel their preorders. Makes them money when we praise a piece and show good pics as that alone can generate a lot of interest. The forum itself generates a community that helps keep the market going. Not directly tied, but does have some effect(not that SS cares or anything:lol)

Of course, those are just indirect ways, it's like implying that being in any forum, board or Facebook groups actually supports a company. People are not in here for the companies, they're in here for the hobby. Being here "supports" Sideshow as much it supports other companies.
