Super Freak
The crown area seems oversized
Hmm, I admit that I did think is was a tad oversized.
Still liking it though

I think the price may be a little bit of a reach, I think $299ish would be about right for this kind of quality predator piece...so its not far off on price in IMO. Those complaining about the sculpt, I guess were are all entitled to what we like - dislike about a piece. Me personally I like that artist's kinda make things there own and don't try to make it 100% likeness of the movie every single time a piece is made. Would get kinda tired of it personally. I do not think any predator fan can confuse this predator and seeing it you know exactly that this is the P1.
Personally I like the sculpt better than the original. I think the shapes and angles of the head just look better. Eh maybe its just me but sometimes I like pieces that are not 100% accurate and think they actually come out better than the original sculpt itself. The Hot Toys P1 Head, no....this piece so far as I see in the pictures, yes. In either case I think a predator fan should pick this up and I find myself seeing lots of people highly regretting not getting it while they can.
I'd rather have my $350 P1 bust look as much like the actual creature as possible.. I can't see how anyone would want it to be any different.
Agreed. The P1 is IMO the most iconic man in suit movie monster ever (rivaled only by the creature from the black lagoon). It has been the subject of countless sculptures. Very few of which could be mistaken for a screen used prop. Sideshow has produced two of the finest P1 collectables ever. They set the bar high in terms of accuracy, but feel the LSB falls a bit short. Still a great piece, but I don't think they are meeting their own standard here.
yeah, though the open/roaring portrait looks great, the closed mandibles look is best(for me at least), love it!
Why are so many surprised/disappointed in the lack of a bio?
I agree that a bio would have be nice, but I threw that idea out the window the minute we saw the first pics with a flared mandible. If he had a closed mouth, they could have done it, but with an open mandible, it would require a switch out FACE/HEAD. That's something you get with a 1/4 or smaller figure, NOT an LSB.
Or worse, a removable mandible that would have had an AWFUL seam.
