Holy Christ, I totally missed those production pictures a few pages back. Weird Ive kept up with this thread pretty well since I am so stocked into getting this piece. All I can say is HOLY F$%K, thing looks amazing. I retract my following statement about the paint. Glad I pre-ordered the Exclusive now.

:yess::hi5:

Woops sent the first post off to fast. Personally I love the LSB Design, Could give a 2 flips about it being 100% Screen accurate, personally I like the way he looks better than the original. My concern is the paint apps being mediocre. I can agree with you on the Alien Big Chap Maquette....kinda a head scratcher in ways. In either case, I think there is a percentage of people who are happy with it.
I think the Pred LSB looks awesome, but I prefer the original head shape over it.. I don't know why they didn't make it accurate.

I've seen better pics of the Tracker Maquette and I still think the paint looks incredibly cheap for $300.

As regards to the LSB, I get what you mean. I think some people care more about it than others. I think they went with that look for there 1:1 bust and wanted to try something different with this one...which personally I am completely fine with. May get bashed for saying this but from the pics so far I think personally it looks better.

As far as the tracker, I agree pretty much. I would never buy it but not because the paint is completely horrible. Just because...eh much rather have other things.

The 1:1 bust was made from the actual movie mold. I don't believe the Predator can purposely change the shape of his head like that, if that's what you meant by "I think they went with that look.... and wanted to try something different with this one".

I prefer this:

I do still love it though.

I actually prefer sideshows take on it there is something about it that just seems more alive to me not sure what it is.

Surprised. It could just be the pic. :dunno

I personally think the accurate version gives much more character to the creature. Not just because that's how he's supposed to look though.

Idk maybe its the fact that i know that pic is just a mask where as the LSB seems to have some sort of personality or life to it

Im not sure what it is just something really speaks to me in the bust lol

I mis worded what I said. That I think sideshow figured they already did the screen accurate 1:1 Bust and figured this time around they would do something a little different.

Or maybe, load the movie up and watch it carefully for the...2nd time? :D

Ive seen the movie predator id say at least 20 times, maybe more. Considering the predator is my favorite movie monster and the movie Predator is easily in my top 20 list of favorite movies of all time. Not sure if that was directed at me but.....yeah.

Geeez, those screen caps make me want to see the movie again. :yess:

I think the production pics on the LSB look great and this will be a great addition to......wait.....movie's starting. See ya! :D

Man I just love this movie!! When I was a wee lad everyone was watching Star Wars everyday, I was watching Predator everyday. I got hooked when I saw the trailer and the clip where Arnie tried to hit the Pred with the stick, that's when I knew I was going to LOVE this cinematic masterpiece. I was a Pred-head when most people thought you were a loser for liking it. Drawing pictures of it on everything, just praying they'd make toys!! Easily my all-time fav!!!

Sorry, just going on because I think it's funny someone is accusing someone else of only watching it once. For some of us, this isn't a recent craze, it's an obsession from our childhood!!! And personally, I love this sculpt, I see the unmasking scene when I look at it. Ahhhhhhhhh, memories :)

I am with you on this. As a child I was a big fan of the movie ALIEN / ALIENS as well as predator. Though I think when I was younger I was more interested in Alien because it was more terrifying. I loved being scared as a kid and something about Alien scared me beyond belief( I also pretty much wanted to be Freddy's sidekick, had his whole outfit, mask, glove......yeah but thats another story). Predator on the other hand I considered more just plan awesome. Loved all the cool futuristic things the predator had and how he was just tearing this group of utter bada@#es to pieces. I think the predator's design is bar none the most amazing and well thought of alien I have seen to date. His reptilian form combined with his tribal gear....and those dreads! Just an incredible well thought out movie monster to battle the ultimate warriors on earth.

^^Just luckily we didn't get stuck with Van Damme's whining rear end as the original creature, which was more of a 5'6" insect. Thank you, wah-Damme, for being a sissy and forcing James Cameron to call in Stan Winston to give us the best sic-fi creature to ever grace the silver screen.

This is me, although I was born 8 years after it came out. :lol

@Pebe I pretty much figured that's what you meant, wasn't sure though.

Ya know, before I started collecting SS I would have had NO problem with a statue being inaccurate. Because I'd always thought that all statues were not meant to be completely accurate or something, I don't remember.
Now everytime a new SS collectible/statue comes up, I'm expecting it to be as accurate as possible. But often I remember the mindset I had back then and think "Is their goal to make it as accurate as possible?". It's confusing to think about.

If palisades made that Pred LSB, same price same everything... I wouldn't have a problem with the inaccuracies.

Hopefully you get what i'm saying. I guess you kinda forget that they're statues. They're not supposed to be the actual creature.. but you do want it to be as accurate as possible...

Yeah the "Is their gola to make it as accurate as possible"? question is a good one. I think for some pieces it is and others it is not. Don't you think it would be boring to have the same statue basically over and over. The 1:1 bust was screen accurate, why have all of them exactly the same. I like to see artist's take on different pieces. Sometimes it comes out better than original, sometimes it falls short...sometimes its both but with different people's opinions. Personally I like the way this bust came out better than the original design...I am certain more people want it to be 100% accurate.

As for me, I think its important to get Human characters near perfect in the face sculpts. The new Terminator 1 PF is just not doing it for me....just using that as an example of pieces I feel need to look more spot on with accuracy. I think with predator there is a little more to add new things to a piece and still keep the original feel to it...without it being 100%.

To each there own, I respect everyone's opinions and love reading how others feel about the piece. I for one love it and can't wait till I finally get my hands on it :)

I remember promising myself that I was going to get this because I missed out on the 1:1 bust and wanted the next best, and accurate thing.
I really would love every collectible to be accurate, but i'm okay with this now. Personally, I think P1 is perfect as he is. No modification could make him better.

The Life-size Busts and 1:4 Maquettes HAVE to be as accurate as possible though, imo.

I agree, I think with the life size busts they need to be near perfect if not perfect in terms of accuracy. If I purchased a lifesize piece I do expect it to look exactly like the real deal.

Speaking of 1:1 busts...since the berserker has grown on me recently ive actually considered the 1:1 bust. What are your thoughts on it?
