Okay, I decided to go ahead and keep mine take the $55 partial refund. Yeah yeah, I guess the piece grew on me.

But I had to repair one of the back hair quills, which had snapped in two and been broke and dislodged from the socket. I Zapa-Gapped it back together and sanded the excess glue down. There was also a facial quill that came out of the brow area. I glued that back on.

My question now for some of you painters out there is - what color and what kind of paint do I use for the brow area, and where do I buy it from?

Ok. Now when they previewed this guy a few months back I was all gaga over it. The Classic Pred has been my favorite one after the Wolf and I'd missed out on the earlier busts. The Berserker never appealed to me so when this was out, I so thought I should have it. This would be my first SS collectible and what good way to start off than the Classic!!
Now I've heard mixed reviews about this bust and it was really heartbreaking to see negative criticism for this guy. Sure the sculpt may not be movie accurate but I'm finding it really hard to pass on him. Surely SS has got to look into their QC pronto if they are dishing out $300+ collectibles. We, as collectors pay and are ready to pay premium prices for scaled representations of our favorite characters. And it would be simply unfair if we dont get what we are expecting. Especially when you've set standards.
Anyways, the final question is should I go for this guy? Its a risk knowing that there are reports of damaged ones as well. But still, should I buy him? Plz suggest.

Cheers.

Got my replacement today, doesn't seem to be any damage after a quick unboxing but the paint job leaves alot to be desired! first one was better in everyway apart from the damaged area's. Also the dreads are glued on at weird angles, they don't seem to flow like my first one did, one sticks wildly out to the left and obviously it also has the ridiculous horizontal teeth. Always something with Sideshow dammit!!! Why do we hand so much money to them for such a gambel?? its a mystery to me.

So, what now? Another replacement? Or a full refund?

It isn't damaged and these are all "hand made and unique" its just how this one is, it Wouldn't have botherd me if i hadn't had a better one previously to be fair. Il give it a good old inspection later.

Have they started sending out the normal versions yet? If not, wouldnt that be something if they decided since they are having so many control issues, to just cancel the regular edition release. HE he he I kid I kid :nana:

I dont think your joke is working, u must flee! :wink1:

Cool thanks for the link, yeah I remember seeing that a while back.

I wonder how many people broke the dreads and quills by accident by ripping it out of the box with giddy excitement! It took me almost 20 minutes to get mine out of the box. We'll never know....

Its a stunning piece...I guess the main question is taking a gamble with shipping damage or QC issues. I think its a gorgeous piece and was well worth the money IMO.

Thanks. I'll have my piece opened and inspected before its shipped. :lecture:

If you like the Predator design I'd say definitely pick one up. It's also looking to be a line that SS will be continuing with as the P2 is already announced.....

As I'd mentioned earlier the Classic is one of my fav Preds after the Wolf and I'd missed out on the earlier bust as well as the maquette. I was just concerned about the QC issues :thud:

P.S - Dont know if its just me but the 'Classic' Pred in the new movie looked a bit albino. :dunno:
