This is badass and I will definately be parting out my original classic in order to dress up the new classic Predator. Thanks for the idea and pictures.

Hey guys, remember when HT P1 was out? And everyone freaked out because he was smaller than every other HT Pred they had released so far? (I know he was smaller than my HT Wolf and P2)

Does Classic P1 suffer from the same midget virus or is he 14'' tall? Is also the new body an improvement over the P1?

I'm considering getting one and try to get the trophies / necklace on ebay and have him as P1.

The body is a big improvement IMO but some will argue that's its not because its not as articulated.
It's the same size as all the other new Preds since Berserker

Well...I do not own any of the older AVP Predators but do have the new Predator 1 and his body is identical to the Shadow Predator.
I was going to sell my original classic P1 from Hot Toys but decided to part him out in order to customize the new P1 with the bone trophies and necklace...also the pouch on his hip and the added armor on his left upper arm. (I was unaware of Greg's Customs and now he no longer sells his custom bone set but using the spare items from my original P1 he looks awesome so far. :)He looks awesome especially having the extra piece of armor and I also added some more of the wires and hoses that connect his armor together. Once I get around to finishing him I'll snap some pictures. Also I still need to add the leather like strings (do not know the correct terminology sorry) on his forearms and perhaps around his knees as well.

I am so glad I decided to cancel my sale on EBay. I will probably end up selling him in parts as I see many making a decent amount of money this way... the original Hot Toys Classic P1 figure as a whole is not worth much.

So I finally caved and decided to do some work on the Classic's HS. I've been meaning to have him look more like the original Pred.

Here's a current WIP:
Pred_repaint.jpg

So far I've reshaped his head using a hairdryer and brute force (made his brow less stark and more rounded and I've reshaped his mandibles/jaw section). I've also begun painting his spotting, and I'm in the process of repainting his eyes. (I liked how HT did it, but it I prefer the original design's colors.

I'll be finishing up the HS paint job tomorrow, and then I'll repaint his dred rings :)

Anyone have any cool ideas on how to add quills to the head? I was thinking of using silicone and sticking that to the HS.

More soon! Hope you guys like him so far!

That sounds impossible. What you've done looks good. I'm just amazed it was possible to 'reshape' these areas by simply heating up the plastic and manipulating it as opposed to actually resculpting it. Are you sure it'll stay this way and not just revert back to what it was over time? Im my experience adjustments made by heating and manipulating are never permanent...

Hi there, yes, all of the changes were made through the use of extreme heat (boiling and hair-dryer). I'm not sure if the plastic will revert back to its original shape over time. So far it's holding up, and it's been over 24 hours.

I did use ice water to shock the plastic after I remolded it, so maybe that makes it last better/longer?

Yeah thats the key. It should work if you repeated it to train the materials into their new shape

Great looking head id love to have a Classic-p1 convert with that head

Absolutely agree!
Great job so far. Can't wait to see the completed HS once you're done with the painting. :clap

Thanks Centurion! I'm about halfway done repainting the dreadrings, and I've done a bunch more work to the head.

I'm waiting on my silicone compound to arrive so that I can add some quills to his head and body. More pics within the next day or so! Big improvement :)

Ralph, what's the story on your 3D rendering of the predator?
Did you get a chance to finalize and add color to it?

Hey Centurion,

I actually ended up starting from scratch to make it more accurate to the movie piece. More on that, my Clint, and the Batman Arkham City HS soon! :)

Seriously, the new Pred piece is going to be way better, and far more accurate than before :)

Wow, I actually liked what you already had going.
Nevertheless, looking forward to your new and improved predator. :rock
