Predators are really that rare???

Honestly I don't think they're so rare. They seem to be easily acquireable, for a price.

What really gets me angry is the ht terminators on ebay. They start out bidding at 99 cents and end up over 150! If those jerks who bid things up were careful they could be getting those terminators for under $30.

Yeah, but if they kept the price under $30, it would be easier for other people to win. And those buyers who are determined to win the item don't want that, so the bids are high to keep the competition away. There's no changing it.

Lemme put it this way. If someone really wants the item and was originally willing to pay hundreds of dollars, why keep it under $100? To do a favor to the other people that can't pony up? To give them a chance? Well, tough. If you want the thing and have the money, you'll do everything to make sure you end up with it. Not someone else. Otherwise, it destroys the entire point of eBay.

Start a WTB thread asking for a loose AVP Pred (whichever one you're after; the AVP Elder's the cheapest). Then wait. It might take some time, but you should get at least a couple nibbles within a month.

Well Nam. I'd say the fact we are 5 pages in and over a 1000 views on a 2 day old thread means this is pretty relevant to quite a few folks. If you're not interested...move on!

A simple search would show you that there're already SEVERAL threads about this very topic. Disappointing, you didn't know that being a mod here and all.

Additionally, if history repeats itself, this thread will be plagued by the NECA collectors slamming HT's pricing on the secondary market with jabs about inaccurate scupts, exposed joints, poor paint apps and the like. Being the blatant HT fanboy you are, I'm surprised that wouldn't tingle your Spidey-senses.

No offense Nam but every thread will "go south" eventually as the old gets replaced by the new. Guy created a new thread. It's pretty harmless. He's not offending anyone. He's not forcing his opinion on anyone else. And a few good people here are participating. I agree with wookster that all that negativity isn't worth it. Cheer up bud.

I paid pretty high prices for 2 of the ones I have. Elder P2 and a Custom "more movie accurate" painted Celtic that I'm hoping shows up soon. Since I don't intend to buy anymore old preds and these were the last 2 I really wanted I went for them. Glad I did with the Elder too. I paid over $1000 less than those three prices posted about a month ago for a MIB on ebay!

People who understand the term, "appreciated value." Classic supply and demand. Those do seem a bit high, but most sell between the $600-$800 mark because people feel they're worth that and pay that much for it.

anyway, i don't like hustlers and parasites feeding off this hobby either. but, complaining about it never accomplishes anything . especially since most of you still support scalpers on ebay while deriding them on here. if you don't like it, either starve them out by not dealing with them, or find a cheaper hobby. then again, collectors aren't known for responsible budgeting or impulse control.
