Premium Format Slave Leia is up at SSC..

I placed my order for the Exclusive, it looks nice and all, but since this is one of the PF's I was hoping Sideshow would do I can see a couple problems with it. I hate it when these PF's come out and the likeness is pretty damn close from one angle but just looks off from another. Also her body in general just seems like it's too skinny and flat, and her eyes look a bit too big. All in all though it looks pretty good, and maybe they will tweak a couple things for the better when it gets closer to it being sent out. I'm gonna take my time to decide if I really want to keep it, I really want to, but I guess I need to be sure.

Just purchased my first SSC PF...I just couldn't resist Slave Leia. I got the exclusive and now I just need a PF Darth Vader and I will have all the SSC PF's I am interested in at this point. She is going to display soooooo well under glass in my HT.

I'd rather explain this than the Darkness PF (which I also have and love, but is essentially a giant statue of Satan). Most people know about slave Leia -- it was even on Friends, after all. I don't think they wouldn't think it was any stranger than having a Star Wars statue in general.

haha. I cracked up when I read that. I've been tempted to buy the various Darkness pieces since I started collecting, but I always end up passing. This is probably one of the main reasons I pass. The other being that the movie wasn't as great as a I remember it being when I was a kid.

I doubt it'd get much of a reaction if its displayed with other SW PF's. As mentioned before Leia in the gold bikini is pretty iconic and this one doesn't play up the sex appeal other than the outfit itself. I could see it raising some eyebrows if its the only SW PF you own though.

Wow, I don't think there are too many bigger Liea in the Gold Bikini fans than me, and when I saw the announcement I though, well there goes another $300, but this piece just isn't doing it for me... Something about the flat-footrd pose, the expression on the face... something. I can see Carrie in there but it's still a near miss for me. Pass.

I'm kinda on the fence about this one anyway. I don't see myself cancelling it or anything, but it does seem a little lackluster. It's something I can't really put my finger on. Could be the weird pose, I dunno. Maybe when it arrives in hand I'll feel different.

Right, but keep in mind the main reason its iconic is because of its status of being a fantasy for an entire generation of males. It wasn't featured on the Friends episode because Ross was impressed with Leia's heroism in that scene. If you have other PF's displayed with it, you should be fine. By itself is another story....
