hmmm 350 seems too large for this. I hope it doesn't result in a "Thing" situation. Sideshow still can't seem to get rid of those.

Which is strange because The Thing PF really is an awesome statue. Just goes to show ES DOES matter to anyone who had any doubts.

But the Thing could've had an ES of 20,000 and I would still have bought it based on the pictures and feedback from respected collectors like yourself and others here who have awarded that product with positive reviews.
It's such an interesting topic this ES thing (no pun intended) because the correct answer to that equation will be different for each individual person based on their needs and wants for that particular product.
I could never consider my Marvel PF collection being complete w/o The Thing being part of it and its ES had nothing to do with my personal needs for my collection.
Sellers, now that's a whole other beast and I could see why ES is so very critical for them but if a seller also wants that same item for their own collection I bet they could care less the ES.
So in essence, one can possess 2 opinions for the same item.
I think a lot of things killed the Thing.
The ES was too large and the Thing as a character lacked the popularity to warrant it. Also, the statue itself is very large for most collections. Right next to that reason is the size of the boxes- probably some thought that they were too large for shipping and for storage. Then the international variant came which only hurt the Thing PF more. Variants of a PF are a no no as far as I am concerned because of the price point.
Same situation could definitely happen here.

The Things ES is 750 not 350 and he looks goofy instead of menacing. Not to mention that the Fantastic Four movies sucked. Come to think of it I'd rather have movie Thing over the comic version. That's strange.

Now that I received the Hulk PF this week I feel a lot better about ordering Abomination. I can't wait until I pit these two behemoth PF's against each other.

You guys should have known this was coming when Quadcent canceled his, then reordered. It jumped a good 150. The ES on the regular has to be at least 375, or less...else him and Thing will be sharing a cell together.

I guess he is an impressive statue as everyone has claimed him to be because imagine the price he would've been if the ES was below 125!
Afterall, he is one rather large and well detailed PF!
I said I didnt care for edition size when It came out,because I was 100% sure this would have been a 150 ES...I still like the sculpt very much but I cancelled it for 2 reasons...1st, I was pissed that I missed the PZ PF and that their server crashed (PZ has truely a great ES).....and 2nd, those Marvel ES are getting ridiculous, what bothers me is the fact that Sideshow makes too much of them and at a 500$ price tag, the Ex will be available for way less $ on ebay for a long time..just imagine for how much the reg will sell on the bay eventually if they make something like 500 of them...I see this thing selling for 250$ for the next 2 years....

I called the ES at 250 based on the time it took to sell out. You would have seen the low quantity alert show up sooner than it did if it was a 150 ES.
That said, this thing will be available for a while for all reasons stated above. Sideshow wants to test the market during these hard times? You better start pushing Patient Zero EX edition sizes if you want to charge a hefty mark up.
I can safely say that they overshot the Abom Ex by about 100 to 150 units given that is just a fire hydrant. Don't get me started on the Planet Hulk diorama ES. That exclusive should have been 400 to 500 for that helmet. It seems very obvious to us as customers but not so much to Sideshow as they make business decisions.

well said guys! i think i'm going to try my luck on ebay for the EX version. with the hard economic times, the 500.00 price tag, and the ES, I can't see this going for more than retail on ebay for a while. If I can get it for $250.00 as Shai predicts, man I would have made out great!!

Make a statement to Sideshow about the ES.. Dont buy it.. Let em sit next to The Thing in thier warehouse... I'm offended by the ES.. I would have happily paid the 500 for a limited Item..
My statement came to them w/ a cancellation the secoind they annouced the ^^^^ty ES..

I think the collector inside most of us could have at least tried to rationalize the mark up under that excuse. Not at 350 ES though.
