Prime 1 - Ripley (Aliens)

She looks more like Ripley's sister. Like you can tell they're related, but it's not the same person. lol I really hope that since Blitzway did the head sculpt, they rework it a bit so it looks more like Ripley and not like a close relative.

Speaking as someone who have been let down by my last 5 P1 purchases, I would advise everyone to go into this with the expectation that they will not change the sculpt and that the production pieces will not be as nearly well done, and may arrive broken with zero replacements available. If you're good with all of that, seeing that this will probably be the only decent Ripley we will get (P1 may be holding out on a 1:3), then go for it. I did.

Yeah, with that comparison pic and the video you can see that it needs some refinement. Hopefully they decide to rework it a bit. It's different lighting so it's hard to tell, but the ear lobes look too big, lower lip looks too pouty, eyebrows are too arched, nostrils seem small, nose is too defined or shaded, cheeks are a little shallow and philtrum is not deep enough.....but again, that's just my opinion and they have different light sources.

Man, I want to like this. I want to love this. And I do love everything but the face.

P1S just released another FB video this morning show K.A. Kim twirling the head around. It just doesn't have the realism of what competitors like Queen Studios have been doing with their releases.

I feel like buying it just because we haven't ever seen a large format Ripley before isn't a winning argument for me. I'd rather vote with my wallet.

If the production piece comes out looking great, I'll take my chances and order it 2.5+ years from now. But right now, I just can't get on board with this despite my desire for a Ripley statue.

I think the likeness is coming through a lot better in the instagram video. Has it been tweaked or a lighting thing?? Her eyes though appear more hazel in color when they should be a darker brown.

i concur... i've said it early on that eyebrow is so arched like she's a Pfeiffer Catwoman stand in.. lol

Nice comparison. Her eyebrows look as arched there as on the sculpt.
