Damn you guys got me nervous about this piece; I’m not looking forward to putting it together or putting on that fragile webbing (I saw that video where dude snapped his, yikes!!!. I may leave this one in the box lol

So can the round part of the base that locks together be taken apart to be stowed away? The guy that broke his webbing mentioned that the pieces locked together which got me wondering if anyone has tried to take it apart

You mean the two rings of the base that 'intertwine' (for lack of better words)?

If you're talking about video I think you're talking about, it didn't surprise me that he broke it. Especially with how he was handling the piece.

Of course it doesn't mean that it wasn't too fragile to begin with, but it looks like he possibly rushed it a bit. In fact there's a slip of paper which states to test fit the alignment first and if it doesn't align to use a hair dryer etc to heat it up a bit prior to inserting the piece into the back of the figure.

Which video was this?

It sucks sometimes when some people don't take care or caution and break something and that takes away from a replacement for someone who might have had a legitimate shipping breakage or defect.

It sucks because I don't remember seeing this 'hairdryer instruction' in my box. :lol I'm sure I missed it, but ****, I'm glad I didn't break mine. I remember having a hard time getting it in, but I'm too paranoid and just took my time.

He's talking about the Radd Titan video.

:lol was that the live un-boxing one? and he keeps using force and breaking it into smaller bits?

Would they even give a replacement for something like that if you break it? Do the instructions specify anything about handling that webbing part?

Everyone is saying it came with a instruction about using a hair dryer if it didn't fit. I'm assuming it was on the instruction sheet or on the a separate piece of paper. I don't remember reading it, but I'm sure I missed something.

I think it's a gray area in terms of replacements. I'll be curious what becomes of it.

A lot of those video reviewers get figures and statues for free? Or was that something of the past? I remember some people said they were sent things to do a review. Wonder if that's why they don't take as much care or go extreme on articulation testing and what not.

Good question. I'd love that job. :lol I'd be curious who gets what, but I bet a majority of those guys, including Titan, are paying out of pocket. Obviously, I could be wrong. I don't know them from Adam.

I can see if some of these channels were a huge distributor of the pieces and then it the gift would pay dividends for Sideshow, but I just don't see that with others. Regardless, the channels are awesome. Great content.

It was on a separate piece of paper. Quite small, with printed instructions.

I'm quite sure they 100% pay out of pocket.

There may be the rare occasion when a manufacturer may issue a YouTubers a free item, but those are usually conditional on giving them away for an 'event'.

Yep that video.

That's the risk of doing a live stream of your unboxing (especially), or even just a plain unboxing video. As you're likely to miss something or just rush a bit more than you would otherwise do.

But I don't believe he was the only one to break that particular piece. As such Sideshow/Prime 1 probably won't argue the point....that much.

Poor fella, to have that happen with an audience :ohbfrank::blissysmi

I read a few people now posting that the webbing had broken. I think it was on Statue Forum. The fragility is scary to say the least. :(

I wonder if they should have used a more flexible rubbery material instead. You didn't have a problem with yours right?

No, thankfully. And I didn't even know about until I got it all assembled. I am tempting to room the webbing line though that wraps around the piece. It seems to be holding strong, but it holds in to the spire via four little pegs and I worried about the stress on the pegs and it eventually fracturing/cracking. The web line feels forging though, unlike the 'cape'.

Tempted to buy this statue, he turned out really great: dynamic pose, awesome paint app, beautifully sculpted and a nice light up feature. It would be my first Prime 1 statue too and I've always wanted to see how those stack up against the rest. Sadly, I dont know much about this character though, decisions, decisions...

Buy first. Ask questions later. :lol

Seriously, it's so, SOOOOO worth it.

Haha the best motto to have. I think P1 needs to branch out and make more Marvel 1/4 stuff. I’d love more Spideys. Superior, Scarlet, etc

I concur. :goodpost:
