The only thing I'm still not clear about though-- is it 33 inches tall including the base, or just for the figure itself? I guess being a statue the base would be considered part of the whole thing?

Yep, the 33.66” includes the base.

I do think the Art department bust has a stronger and more realistic likeness to Gadot, but unfortunately the sculpt and paintwork seem a bit rough up close. The Prime1 might be a more stylized version of her, but the fact it's more polished and a full statue makes it one that I think would look a lot cooler on display.

After posting, looked at the pictures again, especially the 1st one, no it's really looking great. And paint looks great, too

Yeah at the moment I'm leaning more towards just keeping the order. I imagine the CA tax and shipping from Sideshow wouldn't have been cheap either, and if I'm spending another $200 or so on top of that then it's really just the equivalent of one HT figure that I'll need to cut from the list. And after around 90 figures I'm probably about ready to slow down anyway like you.

It's not just the paint, this is made out of Firbreglass, which is a poor quality material, that's why it looks rough. Shame because it's the best Head sculpt of her I have seen to date.

Yeah I'm still kinda tempted by this. It's $650 shipped and he's only producing 50 so not sure how many slots might be left.

Well I already paid the "Reservation Deposit" of $124.90, which they tell me is the same as an NRD. So if I cancel that's all I'd lose.

Agreed. But given the size I have to think that roughness might be even more glaring in hand, which is my main concern.

Still though, it is a terrific likeness...

That bust is the best likeness I've seen of Gal to date. Still think the WW on horse by Prime 1 is the best overall WW statue but just crazy expensive. Way out or my budget sadly.

I think the ideal for me would be the Art Dept bust for the crossed arms pose, and the Prime 1 statue for the hands on hips pose. Unfortunately they're only selling that one as part of the Ultimate set for some reason.

Yeah, it will closer to that if the aussie dollar keeps going down. Ah, 2010... the best time to buy something in US dollars. 1.10 USD = 1 AUD

Yep, those were the days..... I myself started collecting statues in 2014, and our exchange rate was last at parity in 2013, but given how preorders work most of the pieces I purchased were still priced at parity in 2014 when I bought the pieces from Popcultcha.

But because of the rising costs and the drop in our currency, statues like premium formats have almost doubled in cost since then ($500 to $1000 AUD).

I sort of have the same feeling when US collectors complain (understandably) that they're being priced out because the statues have gone up by 50% in 5 years. Whereas for a lot of international collectors it's more like an increase of 150 to 200% in their local currencies over the same period. I guess it makes me an addict because I just can't seem to say no.

The Ultimate still has a great likeness I think, but it does look like a more stylized take on her in comparison.

What do you rank the Ultimate sculpt and the crossed arm Prime ones on this statue?

I like both more than the 1/2 scale statue but maybe that's something to do with the use of sculpted hair on the 1/3 scale. Certainly much better than anything Hot Toys has done in terms of likeness.

Part of me would love to order this but at this scale and price point I'm trying to stick to comic book pieces.
