The suits are made of silicone guys.
They'll "never" deteriorate....but maybe some paint will flake off.

karamazov80, put the helmet on 1st, then attach the visor. This way you can adjust the head.

Love my Kane and Dallas, wish I could dedicate a weekend just to get the batteries out so they don't corrode in there. And still...

...waiting on a Lambert and Lucky Star Ripley!!! :D

They aren't made of silicone. They are made of PVC.

I was looking for some info about PVC and this is one thing I found...

Barbie dolls in the National Museum of Denmark are being studied because the plasticizers are migrating to the surface creating a tacky feel to the plastic, and a formation of oily droplets and adhesion to packaging materials. Their skin develops green spots and they weep. The major causes of deterioration of PVC are heat and light. In general the rate of a chemical reaction doubles if the temperature is raised by 59°F(15°C). Losing plasticizer leaves the PVC itself highly vulnerable to deterioration. Deteriorating PVC produces hydrogen chloride, a corrosive and acidic gas. If not rapidly removed from the surface of the plastic, degradation progresses three times faster than before. The acid corrodes any metals it contacts before dispersing.[54]

I'm not sure how long it takes but, they will deteriorate. Still might grab one though. I'll just be sure to keep it away from heat and light. Unless, I find something else to use my points on.

:lol

Nothing lasts forever.

Well I came back from the pub a little juicy and for some bizarre reason I managed to get Dallas' hands on no problem.
Drunken figure assembley may be the way to go guys!!

My fingers were very sore in the morning though!:D

Anyways, got the lights in helmet to work perfectly once I rotated the batteries (good idea that).

I'll now try the back pack.

As for the degradation issue, well I think 20 - 30 years is plenty to be enjoying a toy.
My Masters of the Universe toys from childhood seem to be holding out fine.

I agree!
I was just worried because of people saying how their Aliens were falling apart and deteriorating.

Gahh! After quite some time I tried the backpack lights on Dallas only to find that they no longer work. I don't think I can deal with another three hours trying to get the backpack off and on again.

They work! It's a really odd way of doing things but it appears uou have to move the bottom batter in on direction in order for the charge to reach all of them.
I got mine working fine but was a right pain in the arse.

Bottom batter, and a pain in the arse...

That was just too funny this morning! :D

yeah, same problem with my Dallas, the screw on the back of helmet also seems slightly rusted, so worried about going at it with a screwdriver..

Im thinking of pulling the trigger on this but I am concerned with quick deterioration of the suit............ Have any of your suits "yellowed"?

No, not mine anyway. Buy it, looks 10 times better in reality than in photos. looks great in an alien display.

even if the lights don't work and the batteries are corroded!:horror

Just get one dude , I've not had any problems so far and I understand what you mean when you say your concerned but I think the whole rubber thing gets blown out of proportion. It may happen quickly if you have them in poses that stress out the rubber but other than that I think they could last for a long time.

Sorry to necropost but this seemed like a good thread for my post - I am trying to get the helmet off of my Dallas and it is stuck on the front. Any suggestions?
