I hate it when reviewers have to put their faces in the thumbnails. It's nothing personal against them, but it just feels... wrong.

Just saw it in IMAX.
What a pile of complete ****.
What I really couldn't understand was why it looked so bad.
It looked like a cheapo tv movie for the most part. It was more like that "mother" promo unfortunately.
Did Scott's son secretly direct this as well? :lol
Crudup and Fassbender saved the day, just about.
Gore was fun, VFX were a massive step down from the beautiful but stupid Prometheus.
This was ugly and stupid Alien.

Why can't Hollywood just leave these old franchises alone? Is the lack of creativity so bad you have to drag up these one note monsters again and again?

An "ugly" movie... this is really sad.

Between this and Shane Black's Predator, the classic monsters of the 80's have just become the Frankenstein and Dracula that met Abbot and Costello.

It's not ugly though, visuals are fine, photography and FX are a little better than in Prometheus, if anything the Xeno looks wonky sometimes due to how he moves all over the place.

There are some gorgeous shots in the movie.

It's a little too dark in some scenes though.

Edit: If you want to know what it looks like, it looks like the "crossing" prologue, in fact, the last part of that prologue is in the movie.

But yeah if I had a choice between all the sequels/prequels of Alien and Predator, and nothing, I'd rather have nothing.

I'm baffled...
The movie looked gorgeous to me. Some scenes as breathtaking as Prometheus, and the FX looked great. :dunno

''I could be reworked. But I'll never be top of the line again. I'd rather be nothing.''

I predict abake and me will be the ones who rate it the highest :lol still, look forward to your thoughts, and what others think too.

Well I guess that's in the eye of the beholder. It looked and felt like that awful "mother" promo. Or the pre-Cryogenic last supper promo. I guess if you thought those looked great then you won't be disappointed with this. And the whole second half felt like an old fake stone studio based Star Trek shoot, because it was.
The ship shots in Prometheus were absolutely gorgeous. These looked incredibly uninspiring IMO.
And the cgi creatures were as wonky as **** at times.

They changed the vfx team for budgetary reasons and it showed.

What did you think of the performances? I thought that McBride was surprisingly the second strongest performance :lol first one being Fassbender obviously.

I thought Dr Manhattan would be the second best performance but he was a bit stiff, maybe that's why he was cast as Dr. Manhattan.
