Oh man, that movie was utter crap. Several years ago, I bought the DVD at fye for 5 bucks. After watching it, I wrapped it up gave it to my uncle for his birthday present. He hasn't visited my house since then :rotfl :rotfl :rotfl.

I haven't been following this at all, but my friend says that PSN is coming back tomorrow. Is this true? I love proving him wrong and rubbing it in his face :lol

Well if it does come back tommorrow - The freakin network is gunna crash all day -:gah: Everyone and their mothers are gunna be online playing trying to get their fix :panic:

I just read that Hackers are planning another Attack on Sony this weekend. The Hacker group Anonymous said they didnt do it. But who knows. Bunch of crap. I just wanna get back online.

^ That's the awesome movie I was talking about, I'm wondering what the "terrible" movie was. :monkey3

Latest news is that Sony is offering free identity theft protection: https://blog.us.playstation.com/201...ction-in-the-united-states-through-debix-inc/

I'd be down for it as long as they don't require a credit card to start the account. I could see this company requiring a credit card and then auto-renewing you at $100+ for year 2.

BTW, here's the website for Sony customers:

Like I'm going to give my personal information out AGAIN after this debacle.

"Yeah, give us your name, birthday, mother's maiden name, address, credit card number and security code. . . . we're just going to see if that data shows up anywhere else on the Internet. We promise. . . "

This isn't good for Sony if true.

The House of Representatives Energy & Commerce Subcommittee on Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade continues to seek answers regarding last month's breach of the PlayStation Network's security. The one it got yesterday from Purdue professor and security expert Dr. Gene Spafford is troubling, to say the least, if the situation he detailed actually played out as described.

Spafford told the subcommittee that, according to security mailing lists he subscribes to, "individuals who work in security and participate in the Sony network" had learned "several months ago" that PSN was hosted on servers running "very old versions of Apache software that were unpatched and had no firewall installed."

The professor continued, "they had reported these [issues] in an open forum that was monitored by Sony employees, but had seen no response and no change or update to the software." The timeframe for these events was "two to three months prior to the incident where the break-ins occurred," according to Spafford.

It's important to note that his account of the situation and information is second-hand. Still, the potential for this testimony to cause the subcommittee, headed by representative Mary Bono Mack (R-CA), to demand more answers from Sony -- and, more specifically, the individuals mentioned by Spafford -- does exist.

Sony could not be reached for comment.

Again, I say. If this is true and this were ANY other company than Sony, they wouldn't be able to take credit cards for a long time. You are required to follow certain rules about holding credit card numbers and protecting info when you get the ability to take credit cards.

But, it's Sony so they'll get a slap on the wrists and it will be business as usual.
