I was never able to get past the multiple sign in prompts when trying to access Netflix during the past few weeks, so at least that's going in the right direction.

Eventually those sign in prompts go away for Netflix. But hopefully PSN gets back up soon, any day now I guess.

Oh Snap!!! That picture is back. Not to dredge that topic back, but I'd love to see MS put MGS4 on the 360 even if it was just to prove that they could.
well the new MG Raiden game is gonna be on both current gen consoles and pc. it looks like it runs on a totally different engine though, so we'll still never know how well MGS4 would've worked on 360. but yeah, it would've taken several disks because of the smaller DL-DVD format. since Raiden isn't a full sequel (it's a 'midquel') it probably won't have to load as much video and audio. personally, i'm stoked for it.

Pshh.. you know you want it. Every night X-Box 360 gamers have wet dreams about MGS 4 being available on Live for download. But then they wake up to their cold, and shameful reality. :rotfl

:peace

Not me, I don't care about Metal Gear much...I know I'm the oddball.

My apologies for inadvertently trolling the thread with that post :lol. But, yeah, it would be cool if MS could pull it off. Gone are the days when we could really have a heated debate about exclusivity, and brag about which system had the best games.

Yeah no kidding. "exclusive" does t really mean much anymore. I don't care anymore as I try to get all the consoles that appeal to my gaming habits so if Sony/MS/Nintendo can lock a title that is going to justify owning the machine then I'm all for it.

I was downloading an update on my 360 so I decided to watch an episode of King of the Hill on my PS3 Netflix. I could never get past it. It kept telling me I had to be logged in to watch what I was trying to watch. I tried a dozen or more attempts. I just said screw it and waited for the download on my 360 to finish.

I enjoyed 4 but I've only played through it once and I have played through the other three like 5 or more times each. I guess that says something. :lecture

True. MGS 3 was fantastic. I'm still trying to get the Foxhound rank in that game, but the time limit and limited amount of saves is just too much :panic:.

Well, Tuesday came and went and still no PSN. I also saw a post on the Playstation forum that says that credit card information for European and Japanese users was stolen during a second hack, but not from North American accounts. I can't confirm the veracity of that post, however.

This just gets better and better... :banghead

I just find it hard to believe that Sony can completely improve their security in 2-3 weeks. You have to find a new security, install it, test it on their end, test it on our end, and then implement it. It just doesn't seem possible.

Sony should follow Scotty's advice and always double their estimates. That way, when you deliver before the due date, everyone calls you a miracle worker.

i'm sure they'll skip most of those steps and just add more broken DRM and a draconian TOS to the next firmware update. that's their answer for everything.

That's what I mean. It seems like everyone is rushing them to get it back online when in reality they should take their time and get it right the first time (or technically 2nd time).

The longer it's down the more I'll get done. If I jump back into Uncharted multiplayer, my days are shot again.

3rd time, that we know about anyway. but i agree it seems like they're being rushed to come up with a reasonable fix. it should take a competent team of security/IT techs at least a couple weeks to go through and methodically restructure their network and software. too bad Sony fired a bunch of those guys and now their lawyers in charge of that.

I'd like for Sony to take their time to fix the PSN as well, but maybe it's the case that they don't have a lot of time on their hands. After all, they've has been bleeding millions of $ in the past couple of weeks since the PSN was down. Not to mention that SOCOM sales are probably close to zero right now, because of the lack of online play.

When we do have an eventual PSN "fix" I don't believe that it's going to be anything significant. Perhaps just a firmware update (with added security features), followed by progressive firmware updates in the coming days and weeks. I think Sony's main goal right now, is just to secure their servers as best as they could, and have the PSN running as soon as possible.

Maybe. I was thinking the same thing, but I hope that our suspicions are proven wrong. Well, just have to wait and see.

There was a blurb about a 2nd attack into Sony's databases on the Yahoo! homepage that has disappeared, does anyone know more about that?
