Prequel Anakin. We've only one movie of Luke to be disappointed by. We had three of Anakin. TPM was fine as a character considering he was just a young boy. But he was too central to it in a goofy Disney kiddie Jar-Jarish kind of way. He should have been more of a background extended cameo, with Obi-Wan taking total centre stage...

And the less said about Christianson Anakin, the better. Never in my wildest dreams did I picture him, and his portrayed personality watching Old Ben and Yoda converse with Luke about his father.

PT Anakin is saddled with bad dialogue and mediocre acting but he's consistent and has a clear arc. It may demystify THE movie villain but it's understandable.

ST Luke is saddled with a terrible story, some okay dialogue and some clunkers, IMO wonderful acting by Hamill, a confusing and seemingly inconsistent arc that neither lines up with the OT or TFA, muddled motivation and plot within the movie itself "3 lessons...or maybe just 2..." and the worst execution of a hero sacrifice death I can think of.

ST Luke is the abominable snow job.

This. Except I would be even more harsh regarding ST Luke.

I also agree with Khev that it's easier to distance Hayden from Vader than it is Luke when you are staring right at Hamill on the screen. Intentionally I'll never watch TLJ again for a lot of reasons but one of them is so I can forget I ever saw it.

If Disney ever gets around to releasing the OT uncut on Blu Ray I sure as hell hope that you don't have to buy all nine movies. It would be such a Disney thing to do:mad:

I think TLJ Luke was handled well considering the story isn't really about him anymore.

Don't know where people are getting this 'he's just a coward in the ST'; did they see the ending of the movie? Anyways, it depends how favorable they make him in IX to 'win' back fans. Que him taking down a Star Destroyer single-handedly with multiple close ups of his green lightsaber for no reason.

I don't really care for PT Anakin.

Yeah he stayed home and died projecting his Smash Bros avatar.

So far Luke is the only thing I have enjoyed in the PT.

Anakin would have been fine if he was more of a bad ass in part 3. He basically backfights Mace, kills unarmed aliens, and murders little children. Then he gets his ass kicked by the the only real fair fight he is in. Blah.

I still say Anakin does not deserve redention and become one with the force becasue of all of that. When it comes down to it his final decision to turn on the emperor was a selfish act also.

Neither character ruined SW films for me though. The ST film have.

I agree that the clones should have mopped up the younglings while Anakin took on the adult Jedi but to be fair he did best Dooku in a fair 1 on 1 match after Obi-Wan was taken out.

I just hated that he was still the same whiny brat from AOTC. Honestly, ROTJ Luke turning would have made a better example of what Anakin and his transition from gifted but flawed apprentice to Dark Lord of the Sith, could have been.

Lmao meant to hit the sequel trilogy Luke and clicked Anakin instead.

At least Anaking turned into a bad ass, where as Luke was bad ass but turned into a little b***h. :lol

Luke at the end of The Last Jedi is a little *****? Really?

Hiding from and abandoning his friends for 30 years? Dying from using the force too hard? Wanting to murder his nephew because he thinks he could potentially be bad?(even though he wouldn't fight Vader for sensing there's still good in him lol) Yeah he's a little b**ch. :lol Horrible writing and direction from Rian Johnson. What a shame because the sequel trilogy had so much potential.

I'm not going to argue that there's issues with that film, but your problems with it seem to stem from misinterpreting scenes, ignoring facts, and looking for reasons to justify it online.

-Luke was gone for around 5 years... not 30?

-Luke ascended into the force after taking on the entire First Order by using a power that we have never seen before. The force is not as it's depicted in video games. You're never going to get a Goku/Superman moment in Star Wars. Sorry. Now he's "more powerful than you can possibly imagine" according to Kenobi because he reached the beyond.

-He used the force to read Ben's mind and saw what he would become. There is no "potentially be bad" as you put it.

-ROTJ demonstrates that Luke is a very human character with flaws... like the rest of us. Do you remember when he almost killed Vader out of anger or are you choosing to ignore reality on that too?

Nice Drive banner though. At least we can agree that that movie is killer!
