When was the last time you saw an EX on Ebay for below retail?

Uh....never!:cuckoo:

BTW....theres some scumbag on Ebay selling Hot Toys and Sideshow PFS with a Chinese location and zero feedback. He's creating several accounts on bogus items you'll never get. The auctions ususally start at .99 with shipping $40. Dont bid on it, cuz you'll never get it. Ebay has been contacted and they suspend his account every time, but this moron keeps creating bogus accounts. Fair warning!

I think I will pass too. I will buy one for less later. I don't think this one will go above retail when a bunch gets on eBay. Unless the ES is super low, then I will buy it. I think I might be able to get the ex for around 325.00 to 350.00 shipped.

Dude your smoking some good stuff.... sometimes I have no clue if your playing or :cuckoo:

Exactly. And thanks for the heads up I try to stay away from sellers in china and east Asia. I've heard rumors of fakes and all sorts of things. :hi5:

Gotta think on this one...

At $350 I'll even buy PFs of my least favorite X-Men and Avengers since it would add to the overall team line ups I've been building. Scarlet Witch is a good example. I like all of the major Avengers but she's on the lower end of that list for me. But she's an important Avenger so although overpriced I couldn't pass.

I like Punisher, his stories often entertain me, but $350 on a character that doesn't build my team line ups or isn't a favorite of mine is looking like a pass...

Now I'm thinking about the remaining major X-Men and Avengers. $350 is a lot, but if prices continue to rise I can't see paying $400 for the likes of Beast and Hank Pym just to complete a line up.

Bottom line is this.....as long as this craze for these statues continues to go on, any and EVERY company is going to keep jacking up their prices. Its supply and demand. Why? Cuz they know people will pay it. Strike while the irons hot if you will. I dont mind paying for a quality piece, but if I get the Punisher and its another damn hollow statue....I'm done! My collecting days are over! I'm a huge Punisher fan, but will not accept some hollow Chinese junk. I have to believe SS will make it right, but we'll see. I would go into Hot Toys collecting , but they're getting insane prices too. Like I said...........we're crazy enough to pay for them.

now HT charging 300$+ for its new IM line which is close to PF price! the sad part is as u said, we dont notice any improvement in quality (actually it is the other way around), many hollow statues, QC issues & open/huge ES! I am seriously consider moving to small run commissions, 2-4 quality private statues better than 5-10 problematic ones to me.
having said that, Im still happy with my SS current products if not for the random QC issues.

Again, even with commissioned pieces, people charge a lot of money for them...why? Becaue people will pay it. I do a lot of commissions for people, and yes.....the expense for one piece is high, but some are insane! I would never charge 3k for a basic one off 1/6 scale sculpt.

That's one of the reasons why I dropped HT there prices were getting ridiculous but also if you think SS quality is bad, I wouldn't consider HT any better & at least if you have a problem, SS are easy to deal with. HT on the other hand ****ing suck.

I don't mind paying the price a Marvel or DC PF is commanding right now because there big, look impressive & actually do look expensive. I didn't find that the case with HT figures though but that's just my opinion so don't take offense if you think opposite.

Easy pass for me on the new Iron Man figures. I might be willing to pay that for a DX figure since they have been mostly consistent in quality, and come with a lot of accessories.

Aint that the truth! $300 for a diecast Ironman?! If i want diecast...I'll got o Walmart and pick one up for $20. Way too expensive. I dont own a single Ironman in my collection. Before the movie hype.....you never heard of him except for true fans.

Sadly, same for Punisher and Ghost Rider. I've always been a fan of the more obscure b-list marvel line-up. Ironman actually as A-list from the perspective of how/when he was introduced, etc. He just had a more difficult time catching on due to lack of good writers. He was always better in The Avengers or other team titles. Other writers like Matt Fraction (from my city ironically) have helped (like Ed Brubaker with Capt. America) make him a highly sought after character.

Punisher was a big part of early Spidey. So there's your reason :1-1:

How is that ironic?

We've had this conversation before. Iron Man has always been a Marvel heavyweight indeed. That doesn't always equate with popularity outside of comic geekdom, though.

Granted, the writing on his solo books wasn't exactly stellar, but he already had good writers by the late 70's and 80's, such as David Michelinie or Dennis O'Neil. Granted, those runs are no Frank Miller or Alan Moore level, but are well respected among fans. Busiek's run in the late 90's was good enough, too.

Just pretend 'The Crossing' never happened.

That was a horrible PF IMO! :slap

I beg to differ. Bucky Barnes Cap was one of the best PFs sideshow ever made as far as the mix media format, and the EX had 2 items, a print and switch out head which made it doubly awesome. Paint was also some of the best I've seen. Now it may be sad they used all this awesomness on Bucky instead of Captain America, but I don't think it made it a horrible PF because of that fact. Still pisses me off they haven't used his pleather material on any other recently release PFs, they keep going back to the cotton crap. I was hoping punisher would use it but they again went with ribbed cotton crap. Hopefully the upcoming 1/4 daredevil PF will use it.

Has there been any indication when we should actually expect a DD PF? I know it's been said "soon", but has soon been defined yet?
