The Triad body arrived. ****s are obviously too big but other than that, can remove the ankles and put her in flat boots to reduce her height and she is nice and curvy. She's not bad for a TMP uniform where her legs will be hidden.

The fly in the ointment is that the hard plastic neck is too fat for both the heads I have and the hands are very limited. If I enlarge their neck plug holes, am I risking committing myself to a placeholder body?

Great tragedy but we will track down and maim whoever stole it.
It wasn't stolen. It consisted of 3 huge wooden crates.

UPS truck broke down in the middle of the transit. They left 2 of the crates on the highway when they transfer parcels from one truck to another.

I couldn't believe this could happen...how could they lose huge crates thats 200 lbs+? But now, I believe this really happened for a purpose.

It was God Sent so I can have what I have today, Karma.

1/6 Trek lives on!

All the unfortunate events, disappointments, and frustration didn't go down the sewage. They were meant for a greater challenge thats coming.

Nanjin,
please make a TOS bridge, too, at least Spock and Uhura's stations and the lift door - and the helm. Together with Kirk's chair that'll be a huge scene!

Quoted myself in regards to the QMX Captain's chair from Walmart. I've received two notices in the same number of days advising of a delay with my order. I hope it still goes through.
I have yet to receive an email regarding my order of the chair from Walmart beyond the confirmation one. Hope it goes through.

I hope all of our orders are able to be fulfilled, Mike. It's an amazing display piece.

Nanjin, that TNG bridge display is amazing. That and the OT bridge, along with corresponding figures would be my grails and display centerpieces.

I'd be all over a TOS bridge. Science, communications & Engineering stations, turbolift, and helm/nav section....amazing! God knows where I'd put it...but I want it

Crazy story. I am happy that there was silver lining and that in the end it worked out for the best for you and for the potential future 1/6 Trek. I really feel bad for the guy that made it. That’s a lot of hard work to have just left on the side of the road somewhere.

I have not read back too far in the thread for a few days now. Just had surgery a few days ago and I was hesitant to click on this thread because of what this one devolves into every now and again . It is always nice seeing you post on here. It always gives me hope that there is still movement in 1/6 Trek. Also it is great seeing those of us with the skills to creat our own 1/6 Trek add to the thread. I honestly have very little skill and time and resources but if I did I would like to think I would be trying to kit bash my own figures together to fill in the gaps in the meantime.

We cant let the Wars clan assimilates all companies in existence.

The line must be drawn here and no further.

Rest well. We are TOS dudes, we ain't young. Spend a little more time pampering yourself to wellness.

Lol. Thanks. Trying to hang with the young one is what laid me up. I cannot compete with them anymore. It was a very painful lesson in humility.

I can't imagine the anguish of the person when they found out the bridge they'd made was left on the highway and lost by UPS, and especially just before it was to debut at SDCC. What a double blow.

Trimmed the Barbie head so it could sit on the Triad body. Yeah the ****s are huge and the skin is a bit dark but as a placeholder until Nanjin can come up with the goods, she's not bad. She might need a body stocking to smooth out her angular waist. I also have a second sculpt that will fit on a more modern body which I can get painted as well. Could end up with loads of Uhuras!

That Barbie head repainted is great, and the body has the right wide hips. Good job!

I've only tweaked the eyes to make them smaller and repainted her lips. I think a full repaint should look much better. It's just the hair...

Thing is, even with a ****ylicscious body and a Barbie paint job, I'm still getting a buzz out of having this version next to the others. It just shows how much I want her! I really hope Nanjin can pull off his version.

Edit: Ah! There is a medium bust version as well. I wish I had spotted that first. I'm tempted to try that version as well. I wish these were available outside the USA. The postage is a killer!

Wow really nice work there! I never would have expected that Barbie head to work so well. If we never get an official figure I think I'll have to try the same thing.

I've ordered the smaller bust version now plus extra hands. I'll see where I end up.

Great job, Paul!

And Rand looks fantastic, as well.

Yeah if the light falls right the younger sculpt of Grace really pops. Whitney and Takei were about the same height so swapping Rand into heels and Uhura into flats worked. Triad feet were too big for the boots I had so I added the ankles back on and they are just sitting in the boots. Her legs are chunky so the boots are really tight on her calves.

I think for a TOS version you might need to think more outside the box if you wanted to hide the joints plus no way will this body fit Barbi's size zero outfit.

The Uhura head sculpt is well painted.

Uhura's height seems allright. However, as Nanjin pointed out, Uhura'll need a seamless body, as visible knee articulations can't be hidden under pantyhose.

In the 3rd season Uhura's bust seems to have grown bigger than in the earlier seasons. It even seems that the prominent female starfleet officers sported some kind of girdles or waist cinchers to display their lovely waists, kind of Hugh Hefner's Bunny costums.
