I get that and totally understand that viewpoint as well. I like all that stuff though like the inserts and what notI appreciate a snazzy art box like HT venom. The decorative inserts do seem like a waste unless they can be used as a background, which they often can’t. If there’s nothing to read about the character or creation of the piece, it’s just one more thing I have to toss aside to get to the figure. The tray means nothing to me.
Im also much more fond of stacked packaging that manages to condense everything in a very efficient way. InArt appear to have gone in the opposite direction but I know that very large packages tend to move through the sorting process a little faster regardless of what postage service was purchased so that could be one small positive to getting a giant package.
EMS shipping was the only option available form KG due to the estimated size- which they probably still underestimated- but, when they finally get their stock, I shouldn’t be waiting long.
Ha I was thinking exactly the same about Sideshow’s more compact packaging but just couldn’t bring myself to compliment that company.I get that and totally understand that viewpoint as well. I like all that stuff though like the inserts and what not
But, yes definitely agree on the stacked packaging as well. Like you said, its very efficient when companies really utilize the amount of real estate they have.
I know it might be heresy to say Sideshow does anything well in 1/6, but I think they're smaller packaging is pretty great, especially with characters that include a decent amount of accessories like ToD Indy or their recent Gambit. They seem to be able to pack a lot in the same size box when they actually do include more than the bare minimum for their inflated prices.
Yea I was looking forward to Harry and Aragorn and pretty disappointed that neither of those were there. If this was to get more companies to grant them licenses, I'm not sure this show did a good enough job in terms of variety to get a company say "yes" to them (at least not in my eyes).Man, that showing was really disappointing. I mean it's nice seeing this stuff "in person" but they really scaled back on the reveals. Was looking forward to seeing Harry and Paul. And I gotta say, I feel the disappointment is warranted because they themselves were the ones to say those figures would be there, and then obviously somewhere along the way the event was scaled back.
