Not directly USPS. Gundamit uses Yanwen for most of the shipping, but that service is usually transferred to the post office for the last mile.
I mentioned to Ton Ton in another thread how Kit's packages often get relayed to a US distributor in California or Grapevine, and then are handed off to USPS. All my packages have a true US shipping label on it for the US leg of the trip. I wonder if that's a loophole...maybe.

If USPS refuses to accept the package from a delivery service, then I would hope that service finds another delivery option for the last leg.

Big opportunity for Amazon here. But I guess Bezos wouldn't mess with Trump's master plan.

Any link to the source? I'm thinking every courier service might end up doing that.
preternia posted a few people experiencing the import duties. These were the screenshots from one of them. They were charged import duties and then found the documentation where it was on Chinese manufactured items.

Potentially anywhere between 10% and 25% for either duty and tariffs.

Pre Feb 4th, duty-free allowance of $800.

After Feb 4th, $800 duty-free allowance is removed.

Thanks for that information. Is it strictly for items made in China, Mexico, and Canada? That invoice seems to have originated from Japan and one item being designated as made in Japan. Can't see if that item got charged with anything.

At the moment, I believe it's only China. Mexico/Canada tariffs have been put on hold. I was confused about that also but the original poster said it was the products that originated from China.

There's been more reports about it. Anything that was manufactured in China, whether you buy it from Japan or anywhere else, will now be charged duty and tariff fees. So it may be why USPS is holding packages. They may have to start charging the receivers duty and tariff fees when they pick up their package.

Yeah I'm in Canada and my packages are never from kit, they're from some distributor in my local city

I think regardless of who the last mile carriers are in the US, I think this will eventually affect all incoming packages from China and Hong Kong.

As soon as they land in the US, they’re going to be hit with a customs charge, which we’ve been able to skirt past using the de minimis exemption since the Obama administration.

On top of this, tariffs are going to be levied on the China side, which will be passed onto consumers by raising the prices, either of the products themselves or the shipping costs.

If they really are cracking down based on where the item is manufactured, prices will definitely start going up soon for Hot Toys and InArt.

How does the de minimis exemption work? Do they apply that on a country by country basis? I guess I'm asking if it's only packages from China that are going to get hit with these additional fees, or if it's going to be any packages coming in to the country regardless.

Maybe Kit can send his stuff to a ghost shipper in Canada and have things come in via FedEx from there to bypass stuff. But, there's going to be a lot of companies across the board that are massively impacted by this and it's not going to be good for anyone involved.
