Well Ive done special effect in Hollywood,..Ive been doing kits for 25 years..in fact I sold a second Pred head 3 weeks ago on eBay...this one was badly damaged in shipping ( FU*KING UPS AGAIN!!! ) I repaired the cracks..and matched the paint perfectly. The guy loved it and left me killer feed back. So if you know what your doing it's easy....

Are your paints 98 cents from Wal-Mart?

I've repainted my entire Wolf Predator (the NECA) from head to toe, i've repainted some area's on my 1:1 scale Wolf helmet, I could handle a little chippy chip. I just have to be super careful.

Mabye put a cut out paper over it, so I only get the areas that are effected...

Painting is hard, agreed there, but if you know what your doing, you can pull it off.

I guess what I'm getting at is that what comes easy to some does not come easy to most. To do what you are saying would not be attempted by most people, so it sounds like you are devaluing the process, even though it seems simple to you. I am an experienced artist, and even though I could get the job done, I will not say that it would be simple, especially without the proper materials. I think most people here would not even fathom the thought of trying to repair a piece that costs over $1500. Then again, my standards are usually much different than other people, I'm very much a perfectionist, and notice even the slightest anomaly.

Hell I hope not!!???..Tamiya water base arcylic's. Dry brush and air brush. But if needed I could make Walmart paint work like a charm. What I mean is Ive been doing Pred stuff since the first flick came out..From the first Biliken Vinyl kit and on up the food chain. It just comes down to the area you work in. Me?? I couldn't do an oil painting to save my life?? Same with a sculpt from scratch..but painting a Pred or Alien and most Si Fi kits?? Cake.

Paint is paint. It doesnt need to cost $20 a small tube.
I totaly disagree with you there man. Not all paints are the same. Some are better for models, and some are better for canvas painting. There's all types of variations to acrylic paint too. I find that Tamiya and Testor's are both different. I also find that the cheaper paints don't always adhere to my model as nicely as the Tamiya and Testors. But I also agree with you that paint should never cost $20.

I know what you're sying man. the more you do it, the easier it gets. That's the case with Predator bios, and model airplanes. The more you do them, the easier they are for you to do them. Experience, and the learning curve.;)

Trust me...Ive slammed more kits in the garbage from my early crappy paint jobs than I care to remember!!! But luckily that's in the rear view mirror!! I'm far from the likes of Joe D. as far as Pred paint jobs go..Joe is the best of the best of the best!!! In fact the mask he painted for me a few years back is up on his web site. Im not in his league.. But I can fake it pretty good!! ; )
