Question: Why is the Original Wolf Pred seemingly more popular than the Cleaner?

At least that's my impression. Maybe I don't know all the differences, but I thought essentially the same figure except original wolf has full sized whip and maybe extra shoulder gun while cleaner has a better base and maybe some arm thing.

But like someone in commerce section mentioned, it is getting very hard to find an original Wolf Predator available, Why?

Just wanted to hear some thoughts on the subject.

Yeah. The regular Cleaner Kit version and then the SS exclusive version with the bendy chestburster.

The cleaner versions also has the one shoulder mounted cannon and one hand held,
were as the original has the 2 on the sholders.

Its seems to be the trend the Predator 2 original also seems to be more rare and sell
for a bit more than its battle damaged veriants.

Ultimately, for the people that only wanted one I think the original was probably the one they went for. The accessories were a little more "important" to the character. Dual shoulder cannons are a little more interesting than a cleaner kit that was only in the movie for a couple of minutes, bendy whip more interesting than the hand held cannon, pre-predalien fight helmet a bit more aesthetically pleasing than the post fight helmet etc. Only things that really make the cleaner kit a must buy, in my opinion, are the extra set of mandibles and the exclusive chestburster.

I think it really all boils down to the original representing Wolf as he was throughout the majority of the movie, and most people seeking that one, and passing on the cleaner because they didn't feel the new accessories were necessary.

the original wolf was out before remember too so maybe some people bought it then simply didn't want to or couldn't be bothered to sell it to make way for another one.

Yeah to me the whip is everything. A lot of people complained Wolf pred's body was too thin next to the other Preds but that whip makes his whole shape a lot bigger and the dual cannons just make him look even more threatening. Actually, I still like Wolf more than Pred 1, he's got the whip the spear the guns the ninja star, so much going on. He's a really badass character and a great display piece. Looks great in a case. I got mine surrounded by 3 military figures like hes about to take them all out

The best thing to do is combine both versions into the perfect one. Im still trying to buy the hand gun on ebay but man so many people are always fighting for it, it goes for like 40-50 dollars. And then I think you need the hand to hold the gun (?) so that another $30 might be cheaper just to buy the whole figure

I think it really comes down to the fact that it came out first. As mentioned by others, the dual cannons and whip are cool, but then again open mandibles, Alien head base and the exclusive chestburster are just as cool.

Alot of people would have bought the first one and passed on the second one, essentially a reissue, due to the high price of these items. Also a lot of collectors who might be getting into this line later on may find the "first issue" of any collectible to be the one they should get. That, plus the simple fact that as time goes by, pretty much any HT Predator gets harder to find and more expensive, and the original Wolf came out first. There's just more Cleaner Kit versions available right now, that's all.

I got the Cleaner version, but a big factor was I really wanted the chestburster. But since I've also added the whip and a few of the other 1st release pieces to help flesh him out.
