I ordered two weeks ago and received Bilbo plus Gandalf hat from their store.

Also they said on the board here that they hope to get it settled end of 2023 with the licence. So I hope we get updates in the next few weeks...

They're still periodically putting up fresh GtG replacement heads in their store. And, they're still selling their existing LOTR stock. Normally, when a company loses a license completely, they'd have to take that stuff down.

I'm just reading tea leaves, but that feels like a hopeful sign.

Or wishful. 🤞

Is the @Asmus LOTR/Hobbit line dead?
I must admit I'm out of the loop on this one - last I checked the new Thranduil prototype was being shown off by Sideshow

Their silence probably tells us our answer.
:monkey2:monkey2:monkey2

D*mmit I really wanted Thranduil in his berry crown. Tho ASMUS hasn't said they are done, either. And I still can't imagine -potentially - what China's current economic situations with factory closures etc. is having on the world of collectibles. Hard to source a specialty fabric when the factory closed.

At this point I am not even counting on there being the alternate Gollum expressions headsculpts they teased everyone about.
OMG I forgot that.
They did that survey asking which ones we'd like to see!!

Maybe Asmus will be like Sideshow and one day BOOM!!
skiff Lando comes out,but for Asmus it will be Haldir 😉😉😉

We are unfortunately taking a pause on the middle earth right now,
things should be back on rolling hopefully by the end of the year.

Excuse me of not be able to explain more specifically.
Worse case we will have to let Inart explore the Middle Earth in 1/6 for you guys from now on.
Well, it’s been six months. Guess they handed the ball off to InArt.

RIP Thranduil, Haldir and Gil-Galad figures.

Asmus back from the dead ?!

maybe?maybe?
IMO it's a lesser collector world without ASMUS. :monkey2

Engaging with the fans; coming out with products nobody else would do like the Elven guards and (planned) Haldir and Thranduil; affordable; and all those accessories:monkey2

All the upgrade heads are out of stock at the moment.:monkey2

All that's left is sitting around twiddling our thumbs and seeing if InArt bothers to release anything in the next few months, if even affordable (and they manage to fix Aragorn's coat length and/or if they actually release a Thorin which I don't really need but will pick up for the cloak if nothing else)

Plus the diorama bases and little extras that would get thrown in, like Galadriel's cape:monkey2

It's all gone to &^%$:monkey2:monkey2:monkey2:ogat:balrog:crying:uruk-hai. Shelves that are a barren wasteland, riddled with fire and ash and dust

I recently sold a lot of my Asmus figures. I couldn't afford to keep up with all the new figures they were releasing, both monetarily and in space, so I figured paring down my collection was the best course of action. If the line really is done I'll be kind of regretting that decision.😅

It's a real shame if they're truly lost the license: not every figure was a home run, but I do feel they had really hit their stride the past few years after some early missteps. I'm glad we got a full Fellowship at least. (Those are nine of the figures I will absolutely not be selling. lol) They always added some fun and unique accessories too, and I was looking forward to seeing what characters they'd be branching out to, since most of the major ones were done.

I'm 36 years old. In my life, there have been three celebrity deaths that stopped me in my tracks when I heard the news, and really just ruined my day. Robin Williams. Chester Bennington. And now Bernard Hill. I think Bernard hurt the most, given my love for Tolkien. I'm probably going to have to take the day off work when McKellan goes.

The reason I say that - it was days like Hill's passing that I am most grateful for Asmus. Although I have my fingers and toes crossed, it's unlikely InArt will ever get around to Theoden and Eomer. Especially not at the rate they're getting figures out. So I'm grateful that Asmus did make a figure of Theoden. No, it's not perfect. It definitely needs the helmet on for the likeness to be there. But I look at my display case and see Theoden - and I remember all of his incredible moments in my favorite story.

I hope the day comes when I'm able to replace my Asmus figures with better versions of them, but until then, I'm happy I have something, at least.

Ian McKellan has played many characters before and since including Captain Darling.

Many years ago I acquired the 20 inch Neca, Gandalf, he still announces 'You shall not Pass' as I pass him by. Yes even for LOTR people it can be annoying.

Going to see Ian McKellern live in the production of Player Kings soon.

What I regret about less from ASMUS - and folks will argue the point - is that they are good enough, I'd end up buying figures I hadn't even planned on. Elrond, Galadriel, 3 Nazgul, the Twilight King, 2 Gimli, MOS...

They still haven't restocked head sculpts.:cry::cry:

As well as the not-skimping on accessories, costumes, and often diorama bases.

At not ridiculous prices. Needless to say, I cherish my Theoden figure at this point. I didn't like what WETA is planning (plus, obviously, it's an expensive statue).
