I never got a chance to work on him today. But I think I have a plan of attack to finish him tomorrow.
But I see no love for Qui-Gon in these forums, so I will be sure to make it worth the wait!
Thanks Pixletwin! I intentionally roughened up the beard to simulate stray hairs jutting out, but it didn't really come across the way I was hoping. But I like to experiment, so that's that. I will smooth the layers out a bit and get rid of the blotchy look. It's funny, I also added many gray streaks, but either they dried out less noticeable or the yellow light is masking them, so he looks a bit younger. I worked hard to keep the hair as close to the head as I could to get rid of the wig look. I sanded down the original hair all the way. It might look a little too symmetrical, but I am happy with the overall appearance. Man, after getting Qui-Gon done, I am really itching to pull out his Sith antagonist and see what I can do with him.
That kid on your monitor seems to think he's cool !
I agree that the beard takes away from his likeness. I will definitely work on that. How does the forehead look odd compared to the original?
You did a nice job of customizing but the way you fixed the hair makes his forehead look really odd 2 me.
