In a little bit, I'm gonna take a long lunch to go to the hobby store to pick up some acrylic paint. This will be my first time to paint. I read that a good sealant is testors dull coat.
I called the hobby store to verify if they have it and they said they do but its only available as a spray. The guy said its only available in that form.

Somewhere buried under that tutorial thread, I could have sworn someone asked whether to get spray or liquid form.
So, is testors dull coat available only in spray? If it is available in both forms, Is spray actually better also?

Thanks in advance for your help...

In my experience, Testors Dullcote in the small spary cans is the way to go. It dries fast, completely matte and is durable. Testors does make a liquid brush on matte varnish, but it dries a bit glossy and I've found that it can sometimes actually pull the paint off as you're applying it.

I've only seen it in aerosol form, but I imagine you could spray some into a dish and use it as a liquid?

Ah ok, just wanted to make sure. When I saw in the thread that they were recommending that sealant, I was under the assumption in was in liquid form...I think i saw a post where someone asked which form was better and I was just under the assumption that people are using the liquid. I've seen several post where they recommend testors dull coat but they never really specify if it was a spray or something so I was under the assumption that people are using liquid form. I'm fine with the spray if that is actually the better solution.

Thanks guys, I will get the spray form then.

So, I decided to go ahead and stop by my house during my lunch as I couldnt wait to try this thing out...this thing works like a CHARM!!!

Thought I screwed up at first as I went outside to spray it and it was a little windy so I kinda focused on one area and ended up spraying quite a bit. So it looked wet while the other side of the face wasnt. But after it dried, cant tell at all and it does locked up the paint.

Thanks guys. This board is very handy:clap
