Re: Rahmier84 update 2-5-14 G.I. Joe paintups finished

Fantastic work. The blending in your sculpt is perfect, impossible to see where you add and what is the original sculpt.

Also you have made some tremendous progress on your paint. The skin tones and eyes are perfect.

Thanks Elvis! Coming from a fellow head modder I know you knows what goes into these mods. Thanks for the kind words. I am trying to improve each and every head I do or I feel like I wasted an opportunity to learn something new and better.

Thanks Mr.E!

You always have the best adjectives Jon! I was looking at a list of British slang in order to enhance my own vocabulary. We Americans have a very limited number of descriptive words it would seem. You guys over there have all the best.

Looking good so far, at least from what I can see.

Re: Rahmier84 update 2-5-14 G.I. Joe paintups finished

I think it looks good a little goes a long way towards realism but someone get Marf to comment as well?

Better pics, Thanks! What do you think?

I was just going easy since it's an irreplaceable item...i think it's good but it's up to you bud. I can go farther just never wanna do too much before you see it.

Re: Rahmier84 update 2-5-14 G.I. Joe paintups finished

The jacket is looking good! You've definitely got the color to a good place, and you've given it a nice overall patina. As for any additional weathering I would say that's really up to Ed. Are you going for a pre or post 'Well of the Souls' Indy? The problem you run into with Kato's jacket in weathering the material beyond the color/finish, is that the material is just too thick and rigid. I'm still anxiously awaiting his release of a new, Raiders accurate jacket in a softer, thinner material, so we can hopefully get those nice wrinkles, especially on the sleeves!

Yes it amazingly tailored but I think it definitely would be better if it was even thinner, epecially the collar. But it a piece of art nonetheless. The weathering seems to add a little shine which actually simulates the look of worn off leather in some places.

Re: Rahmier84 update 2-5-14 G.I. Joe paintups finished

Well, Indy's jacket in Raiders post-well of souls was a dusty mess. I'm aiming for a "cleaner" version haha:

As you can see, a little weathering around the seams (pockets/flaps, collar) goes a long way to give it that "lived-in" look.

I think we're almost there. Maybe just a *tad* more. When you think of Indy, a brand-new jacket doesn't come to mind. If that makes sense.
