Nate went up for preorder February 14th of 2023 so we’re not that far in yet. We were talking about it in this thread with R_R_X for a while when it was in the RnD stages so I guess it feels longer than it has been.

I admire that Lim doesn’t care about pressure to release figures so they can be perfect on release, but at the same time, they do need to start getting these things out faster. I know that’s been their goal for a while so I do hope it’s going to be attainable very soon.

Who knows what the world is going to look like in 2 years time. Are tariffs coming? War? Are these things still going to be affordable? Is it going to be a nightmare trying to get them into North America? Hard to say, but I could see preordering slowing down drastically if there’s world uncertainty, people won’t want to get burned. I don’t want see a company like LIM go under. I’m kind of starting to see the end of the road in this hobby but LIM is a company I’d keep supporting and hope to see so much more from, so I hope they’ll release things quicker to be stable and earn the trust of the community.
*Nvm. Didnt realise it was just the reveal.
Yea then it has not been that long since pre order after all. That’s a pretty crazy wait between reveal and pre order window though 😅

Youre mistaken. It went up april 22nd 2022. The first post on this thread
I’m the one that started this thread lol. It was named “Oh Crap!” Guy until the pre-order went up and I edited the first post with the listing. It went up February 14th 2023. If it went up April 22nd 2022 it would have predated John, which it didn’t. John was up first.

The day this thread started wasn’t the day you could pre-order.

Yea I messed up. Already edited the post.

He is kind of rare but not really sought after. So i’d say he’s still worth his retail price but nothing more. The figure is really basic and has its shortcomings.

Reading the news this morning and apparently Trump is signing an executive order on day one for a 10% tariff on all goods coming from China, as well as 25% from Canada and Mexico.

I never really cared before, but please start shipping Nate. and John in December.

Tariffs are going to ruin the economy. The inflation is going to be insane. Can’t believe people think this is a good idea 🤦🏻‍♂️

Luckily I’m in Europe. As a kid America was my dream country to go and live. As an adult.. not so much. I’m good.

Yeah, it's a shame. I always considered myself so fortunate to be American, I still do. But it's sad to see the way things have progressed over the last 20 years. The 24/7 news cycle leading into the 2004 election really changed the way people are keyed into things. We ended up with Obama in 2008 as a result. He got a bunch of people worked up and energized, which directly led to Trump in 2016 which got a whole other group worked up and energized. Now everybody here is polarized and looking for something to be mad about. A far cry from what I grew up with in the 1990s.

Anyway, if people think inflation is bad now, just wait until these tariffs hit. As I said, I was already kind of looking at an end game with sixth scale and am just hoping for a few last characters at this point, but if the economy goes the way it seems it could, I think a lot of folks will be jumping ship next year already.

I just really hope Lim gets Nate and John out in the next 30 days, and announces Dutch, Sully, Joel and Ellie...whatever else they have planned so people can plan ahead. It's going to be incredibly important to map out your spending on this hobby moving forward.

I don’t live in US, but I think there’s nothing to worry about. Most of these Chinese figure shops don’t write full price into declaration. That’s why in 99% cases we don’t pay import fees. So in the worst case things gonna increase in price for few dollars with that 10% fee. Most of the stuff is produced in China so I don’t get what Americans are celebrating. Delusion at it’s finest.
Unfortunately I don’t think John and Nate will be delivered to us this year. Hope I’m wrong.

Yes but that only applies if you buy directly from Chinese webshops. Which is why I dont think it will impact third party figures much as they are only available on Chinese shops anyway.

Hot toys, InArt and other official figures will go up in price if you buy them through an American webshop.

Also this. Makes sense. InArt got another reason to increase prices damn lol

Im talking about import fees not including taxes
oh sorry, got it.

We didn't free you guys from the Germans twice to have to pay taxes on our collectibles less than a century later.
I know, right? Also you guys used to rebel over a 3% tariff on tea. Different times.
