Here it is..........
The sculpt and pod looked incredible. The suit was the controversial Twich Squad one
That looks great! was it a rights issue or something? As the reason it wasn't released?

Well. damn. That Bowman head was sculpted and painted by Joy Snyder (Snyderman's sculptor/painter). Go Hero/Executive Replicas had an agreement with the actors to use their likeness, but it wasn't licensed through Kubrick's estate. That's why the place card said Keir Dullea instead of David Bowman. Last I heard on this project was that the factory that said they could reproduced the suits jacked up the minimuim order to a number that wasn't feasible for the amount of figures they thought they could sell. That was some time ago, maybe a year and a half ago. The Snyders aren't currently working with ER as far as I know as they had no new information on this project last time I ask.

RM? Beto? Serang? DO IT!
Thanks for the info! It would be great to see this project come to fruition. .in one way or another.
can you show a link or a ppicture of Blacula?!?!?!
Man, those guys don't update their Facebook page very much, do they?Check out the Amok Time web site. I think they may be the ones who actually produced that figure. I have also seen pictures of the prototype sculpt/paintmasters on the Snyder's web site. www.joyandtomstudios.com
that has just become my grail piece!!!..i must track it down!!!!
I'd spend some pretty good dough on an updated 2001 set like that but I tend to agree with whomever said earlier in the thread (think it was turbo or Pop) that it's the kinda piece that is suited to Hot Toys or a similar company with access to precision machining. Stuff like this, Iron Monger, robots, etc., just think it's easier for bigger companies to do and to get a more professional looking piece.
I've been lurking in this thread pretty much since the beginning, since I was interested somewhat in Bickle but just not enough to pay the asking price. Great thread. Enjoyed all the arguing back and forth because for the most part it was constructive. A lot of interesting points of view in here and well articulated. Glad this project came out so well in the end. Congrats to all those picking one up.
