Paratroopers were known to shave their heads to mohawks, or so i read. I believe Travis was a paratrooper, not sure though.

I read when De Niro pitched his idea of a sequel to Paul Schrader in the 90's Schrader said that it was impossible as Bickle most likely died 6 months after the end of the film...as he had surrendered to his violent urges once again.

This is probably just wishful thinking, but does anyone else feel like we might get this sooner rather than later? I'm thinking because when Rainman started showing production pics, it was like one after another. I can't recall the exact amout of time it took but it seemed like we saw the head then the body, then the clothes and accessories all with in a short amount of time, like things were really moving along very well with this project. As cool as this sounds, I'm probably just over analyzing it coupled with some serious wishful thinking. Time will tell, I guess.

:lecture This would be awesome but it seems to me it might be longer as there's more paintwork involved and more accessories but, one can only hope!

Rainman's usual 30 full sets = 30 painted heads which takes approx 30-40 days.

Theres approx 100 heads in this run that he need to paint. It should be more than 30 days, thats for sure.

I hope he takes all the time he needs for the painting and I pray it remains great quality. It was always my fear that with increases in headsculpts etc the paintjobs would suffer dramatically.

It would be wise for his assistants to do the paintwork on the accessories and chest pieces so that he can focus on painting the heads as perfectly as possible (skin tone, Eyes, hair stubble). Hopefully this is the case

So it will probably be at least 4 months till we get Travis in hand if its more than twice the normal workload for RM.

Yeah, i hope so too. But i think 90-100 days turnaround time is reasonable turnaround time. Not a painter, but does anyone know whats the approx time needed to paint a head for proffesionals like silentsurfer, smallstudios, robbiethepainter etc.

Twice the paintwork =/= twice the workload. Recall that he's got lots of other duties involved in getting things finalized, initializing production of all the component parts, and putting these together, apart from painting. I can't imagine it would take him two months to paint 50 heads (meaning he can't even finish a single head in a day), but then, I don't really have any clue as to what his painting process is.

However long it takes, I just hope he doesn't ship right before Thanksgiving or something, when many folks in the U.S. won't be home to sign for the package and they'll end up shipping back to him.
