I think because so many of us now have spent on the low end of 10k on Rainman figures if you got most of them, we now feel like we bought Rainman himself.

Not cool. I want him to make what he wants. And ill get what I want from that and skip what I don't, I don't know how Rainman puts up with all of this BS.

When Rainman is into the project he's inspired and the result is always his best work, I feel bad for him in dealing with this board's complaining sometimes. Every single one of us is guilty, me too but it's getting old.

Oh well.

He told Snake Eater he was thinking of maybe doing Amsterdam first and then Torrance after and told him to make a thread and people had a conniption fit as they usually do in Rainman threads and all the drama and BS got it deleted.

All of that passed right by me. What was the issue? That people were hoping for Torrance next and Amsterdam came out of nowhere? I don't want to rehash the drama here, I'm just curious to why it all exploded.

Yeah I think a lot of guys were expecting Torrance which is fine cause I think RM would do a fantastic job. But if RM was leaning more towards Amsterdam then I agree let the man do it. I for one was on board for Amsterdam. It was def a curveball though lol! So I guess we will see

My bad I started this haha just wasn't sure what happened to the thread, you are right though lets get back to Bickle...

After all my talks of liking the haired sculpt I cancelled my FS Driver and ordered a Soldier H&C haha im all over the place, but it is the more iconic look, and with the saved money from FS to H&C I was able to PO Iminime Space Monkey T haha.

Yeah, that was part of it. Then folks started making accusations toward Snake Eater for this reason or that reason, and it just got nasty as Rainman threads always do. . .

. . .thinking I might have to get a Raoul duke avatar myself so we can have some solidarity here. . .last time I did that for a Rainman figure I wanted it was McFly, and it worked (well, sort of)!

I'm also surprised. Just $120 more for the painted head, and you've got a head/outfit combo of that guy. It doesn't surprise me that the Soldier look is the most popular, but I still expected all the Driver stuff to have sold out and stayed sold out fairly quickly. If nothing else, so folks could bash shirtless alternate looks for this guy.

I didn't see one post of the mess and I bet I can paint the whole scenario nearly verbatim. In short team Amsterdam and team Torrance all started throwing blame and accusations at each other; some of which were pure assumption and some were very valid points. All of which stemmed from this "out of the blue curveball" . I'm I close .

Well, I can't say that I wouldn't have participated in the discussion because I'd be lying if I said that I don't have feelings about the topic. Just my opinion but I do hope he chooses Torrance in the end. I get the desire for Amsterdam (especially for Bill owners) but I feel that as Torrance out does Amsterdam in every category possible (character, source material, place in cinema history, etc. etc. etc.). I own Bill and love GONY but Bill/DDL is by far the best part of that movie. If a Amsterdam were to ever come to life I doubt I'd pass on it, but I'd be fine if it never happens too.



... Let's start the Duke avvy clique!!! I'd love to see him take this on because I really think it would be one of his greats. The only way to do Duke properly is in the same fashion as this Bickle structure though. If he's willing to do an extended set again and step out of his comfort zone of package structure, then he'd freak it on Duke. Duke can fly with one outfit but he's more accessory heavy than Bickle. It would be a great release for The Man; he'd have to flex more of his skills and less of the heavy lifting would be done by the tailor.
