Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Rainman and smirking-type head sculpts. . .hit-and-miss in the past. Think Dexter, Alex, and Lecter. Just saying.

:lecture he did nail Doc..but that was a subtle smirk not full on

This point was addressed earlier on in the thread.
I've been skiming through this thread for the last couple of weeks consistently and this comment rings bells and is a very good point, before it I was all about smirk, but since reading this Ive had serious doubts about it

Whats definately NOT a good idea is that exagerated manic smirk with the two guns. Thats a promo pic and is nowhere near accurate to any scene or mood in the film.

If its a smirk, I hope its subtle otherwise numb is the move

The figure will forever be in that pose, only drawback. :lol

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

As are most figure though. Once you set them up in a 'pose' - they pretty much stay that way until you sell them :lol

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

I see what turbo is saying with it being in a set pose but I still think a smirk might be the best choice. I like this expression because it is almost a mix between a smirk and serious face.

Smirk is classic Deniro, dont want to rattle the cages but what would have made life easier was a dx with mohawk smirk and final shootout numb.
That way if one misses the likeness the other still has a chance.

Either way were getting Bickle. Dream Figure

Maybe the DX is smirk Mohawk and serious Mohawk :dunno

We are jumping to the conclusion the DX sculpt will have hair.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

DX sculpt will have hair.

:lol In my bizarro world this is what I would like to see:

V1 Mohawk M65 Battle Gear
Numb sculpt DX Smirk

V2 Full Hair Tank Jacket Taxi Driver
Depressed Serious sculpt DX Winking Aim sculpt

Released simultaneosly or a few months apart from each other

Agreed. Unfortunately Rainman doesn't think to cover all the bases. He doesn't provide enough bits to build up two full figs to display at the same time. We won't get overlapping parts like the same way we didn't get 2 sets of accessories (watch, jewlery, guns) to complete both dork and suit versions of the Pulp boys.

To make 2 full figs and display them simultaneously, not only do we need the bomber and plaid shirt, but we need 2 of the same belts, jeans & boots. That's just not his M.O. Maybe he's not in tune with the mind of the collector and just doesn't realize that people want this, or maybe he just can't fit the extra work in the schedule. In this case the work load would mostly fall on his tailor but who knows.

I do wish that he would realize that collectors think like this and would want this type of extra offering. I would've loved if he sold PF accessory sets to complete the D.C.

Agreed again. I like to switch my poses and there’s only one pose that that smirk is really good for. It’s too limiting to be the main sculpt but I wouldn’t mind if it were numb regular and smirk DX (both Mohawk). That way you have versatility.

If he can’t come up with a way to offer packages to cover all the bases, then the haired version is better off as a separate offering or just as a H&C offering sold simultaneously with the FS

Just buy a DX + Clothing Set = Problem Solved :dunno

Would be cheaper than buying two full figures

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Yes, I really didn't understand what PCK was driving at. You just have to buy a clothing set if you want to build two figures. I don't think he should be expected to give you double of most things.

I really wouldn't go that far. Mike has never come across to me as entitled. Passionate yes, opinionated yes but not entitled or elitist. You seem to have a real problem with him perhaps a problem that's best left out of these threads and moved either to PM or forgotten about completely :)
