Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

GRAIL IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT!!! :rock :rock :rock :rock Mags you are right my man, this is a sick year!!!

DX all day and all of the night!!!!

Please God let him take his time on this one! Give him some of that Bill sexy sauce!! I'm praying for perfection!

Congrats bro I know this is a grail to many of us but this is THE grail to you! :hi5:

Great screen comparisons with the IMFDB shots. Love that vid on the patch too. Keep that proper reference rolling!

I don't see why we should expect to cut down too much on your list here. These are great and necessary choices! You left out the belt buckle and the We Are The People pin :wink1:

If anything I rather him up the price to $920 and get all of the goodies in (maybe $1100-$1150 for the DX if it needs to include the plaid shirt and bomber jacket) than sacrificing an accessory or something

Well here's the thing. Its still very early to tell what direction Rainman is going to take with this. So my initial posts are one scenario out of many. In a perfect world I say mohawk with full hair sculpt DX. Thinking logically though thats two sets of outfits (tanker jacket and plaid shirt), then the accessories Cigar box, clipboard... and this is just the full hair variation. The mohawk version alone has 3 ESSENTIAL guns (cut down from 5), a holster, the drawer arm slide (Neccessary for Rainman to show his skill with this accessory), the Aviator glasses (Essential), then we got the M-65 jaket with patches, the cowboy boots, western belt, western diamond cut white shirt. I hope he takes on the iconic look because no one can do it at Rainman's level, but this could easily be worked out as a two version stretch like Vince.

I left out the We Are the People pin and knife because these can be done outside of Rainmans control but I'd rather see him include the knife as well.

Soldier story JUUUUUUST released a new 82nd airborne figure with a Travis Bickle Deniro headsculpt. Real hair. Likeness is good.

82nd-21.jpg

Likeness is Horrible and you've just confirmed for me that Sculpted Mohawk is the way to go! So that we can get that accurate Choppy self inflicted homenade Buzz cut

It looks nothing like De Niro but yeah hopefully RM takes his time and we get one of his best figures ever to date which I think it will be.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

The Mohawk is my favorite headsculpt choice, but he's also with the regular hair for most of the movie! I think part of the entire movie is showing his conflict/progression as if it is TWO different people, and I just feel it should be reflected more clearly here as well. I think he should just split both looks into two releases as he did the exact same thing for Vincent with the different outfit and hair. And it's clear that he's more popular than Vincent by a long way. I'm surprised there isn't more support for the DX head being blood stained! I'd prefer it over the head without blood stains to be honest! But I know how some of you are about DX heads :D

The Mohawk is the ICON!

Lonely man is wonderful though and would be a fresh/different version but when people think Taxi Driver....They Think Mohawk for the most part.

Mohawk is Battle
Bill's Cap and Blue Ribbon Top Hat..... Battle!

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Would definitely want both heads but when I think of Travis Bickle, I think of the "You talkin' to me?" scene, so I guess I find that his most iconic look. Would like a smirk, too, on the Mohawk head, but not at the expense of likeness. Not sure about the forearm rail for the handgun. Don't care how talented someone is, just not sure it's possible to build that in 1:6 and not have a super wide shirt cuff that looks goofy? If it can be done, I'm all for it, but overall look of outfit would be more important to me. Not 100% sure on this figure, yet, but it's a strong possibility! Exciting release, regardless.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Imagine if Rainman came out of left field and made this version?

:lol

I laugh but I would probably still buy it.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Not to discredit Pulp Fiction but, do you think Rainman can just skip right to Travis? :lol

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

HELL'S NO....He knows the deal on this! :lol

You sure about that? :rotfl

Rainman's picked the right outfit/scene choice in ever release with the exception of Plainview imo. I wasn't around back then so I still don't know why the consensus was for the quail hunting scene.

:1-1:
That's why it has to get done! I've yet to see someone take this challenge and that Sleeve Gun would be an epic accessory! The shirt sleeve was actually ripped and the M-65 was a worn loose/baggy, so it could work. I'd cinch up the m-65 jacket sleeve just to show the Sleeve Gun!

Besides, you can't have "You Talkin to Me" without the Gun Slide arm rail!
Works with the full hair sculpt as well.

Shirt, Belt, Knife (quick screencaps)

Quail Hunt was still an interesting choice and it had some great accessories to support the choice.

In past Rainman seems to enjoy the challenge of interesting types of accessories.

I wouldn't bet on him missing the mark on Mohawk Bickle.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

This is going to be an amazing figure. So many possibilities... Can’t wait...

Love this illustration by Massimo Carnevale. Check him out, he’s got tons of iconic movie inspired posters... This is my favorite!

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

"You talkin' to me" is the most recognizable, most repeated, and most remembered scene from the movie. I prefer the full hair head sculpt, whether as the base sculpt or DX, but do not want the blood sculpt. The blood was only a small portion, end of the movie, and limits the display of the figure. The regular look, which is most of the movie, enables many poses and scenes from the movie.
