Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

"You talkin' to me" is the most recognizable, most repeated, and most remembered scene from the movie. I prefer the full hair head sculpt, whether as the base sculpt or DX, but do not want the blood sculpt. The blood was only a small portion, end of the movie, and limits the display of the figure. The regular look, which is most of the movie, enables many poses and scenes from the movie.

I think Talkin to me is the most memorable Line in the film, but Mohawk is ICONIC Taxi Driver. Plus it was the most memorable reveal. It shocked audiences, that's why Scorcese panned from the feet up! Tarantino was taking notes during that reveal.

The Mohawk is in the Museum of the Moving image in Queens New York!

Any thoughts on using Ball jointed Sculpts so that Bruce Lee body can be used/posed without shirt? I'd love to see somthing like this worked out!

Either way the push is for a DX with both sculpt because you can use Full Hair with the Mohawk gear and create the Talking to me or guns aimed scene.

(I realize you guys know this already :lol)

that massimo carnevale art is awesome

Good call Turbo, think a neckless sculpt would be better for this one

I'd still prefer two separate releases for the two heads/outfits. Just makes the most sense to me.

That said, nude body should definitely be a personal custom job. You'll never get consensus for which. The one you linked is waaaaaaay too ripped

:1-1:
That's why it has to get done! I've yet to see someone take this challenge and that Sleeve Gun would be an epic accessory! The shirt sleeve was actually ripped and the M-65 was a worn loose/baggy, so it could work. I'd cinch up the m-65 jacket sleeve just to show the Sleeve Gun!

Besides, you can't have "You Talkin to Me" without the Gun Slide arm rail!
Works with the full hair sculpt as well.

Shirt, Belt, Knife (quick screencaps)...
Ah, thanks for the pics, turbo! Totally didn't remember that he cut the right sleeve in half to accommodate the gun, so yeah, that would work great with the baggy M65 jacket.[/schooled] It would be quite a challenge to build but it would be an awesome accessory. OK, I'm now in the convinced column.

Totally agree with this (down for both full hair/Mohawk, though... really it's ideal to have both). Not that bloody wouldn't be cool, but it's very limiting, display wise. More I think about this figure and how much I loved the movie and character (sadly it's probably been 10 years+ since I've seen it), the more I think I'm gonna have to try and pick it up.

I've never bought a Rainman release, before. How tough is it to get a DX/regular version and what's the process? Will Rainman at some point update this thread w/WIP pics and then suddenly drop a new thread in at some random time (thinking like Beto seems to prefer) to announce it's for sale and then first-to-pay/first-on-list?

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Just follow this thread, wip photos will be shown and order times announced when time comes, rainman has a website you order from.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

OK, think I remember hearing about that in the Blondie thread, so sort of like Iminime. Thanks, Ajkhunter.

No problem man, Rainman has a VIP though so a DX might be out of reach, as for Full Sets and head and clothing sets depends on demand, but the time they go up for sale is announced usually a week prior so you have to be online on his site come order time and click fast, also have to register with his site first.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Yeah, guess I'll accept now that the DX won't happen but I'll go ahead and register and try for a full set, when the time comes. Thanks again.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

This has to be separated into two releases, the DX can't be another head sculpt without an entirely new outfit. Split this into two different releases Rainman, it only makes sense.

No need for 2 releases...Assuming RM does the Mohawk version as the figure: It would only be an extra headsculpt and half an outfit set (Tank Jacket and plaid shirt) the rest is the same...

I guess so, but wouldn't you want to display both? You'd need all the clothing twice if you would (which I do)

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

I know where your coming from, But if all releases had several versions due to different scenes in a film - we would all go mad trying to acquire all of them:bounce

I think if an Artist can capture an overall feeling and character within a figure, rather than scene specific releases, then they are a true talented artist. RM has not let us down yet...

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

I'm not a VIP but hope to secure a figure even if I have to resort to head and clothing set. hopefully I won't have Too much trouble.

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

IF a DX was available, how many would be available?

Re: Rainman Artwork 2013 NYC Cabbie "God's Lonely Man"

Yea if RM does go DX on this release don't expect anymore then 1 or 2 to make it to general sale if that. The plus side of that tho is that general members have a far better chance of getting the fullset :). We'll just have to wait and see how RM decides to play this one it has been awhile since he did a DX and this figure would certainly fit the bill...

Expressions

Arms crossed smirk

This expression definitely get's my vote!

As for 2 heads and clothing options from both looks, I highly doubt it. Of course I would love that, just being realistic here :monkey1

Overall I would love to see the mohawk sculpt with smirk expression, clothing and weapons. That operating arm sling would be snazzy :)
