Don't get me wrong, it still looks great, but now I know why Rainman chose to make Plainview's face with that appearance. Like I said, I thought something was off about the expression. When I think of Plainview, I don't think of a calm/calculated person right before an explosion of violence. I've always wondered why he chose the quail hunting scene for it... but I'm thinking it may be because he would have a hard time modifying the sculpt to have the appropriate emotion/expression on the face for his other scenes. (I have abandoned my child! and Draaaainage!)

I hope if he does choose to do another DDL, that he'll make a new sculpt, instead of using the the previous one which has been used twice now.

You don't start from scratch bud when you have already achieved perfection. I think tweaking his existing sculpt was more than sensible in my eyes. I also think tweak it for Dandy Man if it should happen. I agree with Robbie here, same sculpt but look different side by side :)

I highly doubt Rainman will make Kill Bill figures. If I understand correctly, he's the creative adviser for Denny's iminime team... and I believe Denny already said they're planning on making The Bride. Maybe Rainman will sculpt or make accessories for it though! But CMON... those guys before wanting a Django and Shultz?? Did you not like Django Unchained??

That said... would it be selfish to want another Daniel Day Lewis? I'd loooove a Plainview from the final scene with Eli.. or even a Lincoln. :D

im still holding out for those enterbay figures to be released!

In my mind, revisiting/tweaking a sculpt that had been released already makes the second one a bit less special. It's like a musician who has a huge hit, then releases a more modern update later while keeping the same basic song structure/lyrics.

The new version could be really great on its own merits, but hard to judge it on those terms because it uses an older, more successful work as its base. It isn't that it's lazy. Of course this would take real work to achieve such a mod. But it's not very adventurous, and the degree of creative input is a bit limited due to this (not that many collecting Rainman place much value his own creative decisions at this point--folks prefer to treat every release like it is a commissioned custom rather than his own work of art). Trevor Grove's mods are a bit different to me because he seems to plan this from the get-go as part of his process. But even there, a tweaked sculpt is never as special as a new creation. Just my opinion though.

Wow these things are really starting to speed up. I wish he'd take it down a notch. I'm all for cranking it out but not at the cost of quality. While I'm mostly very happy with Vincent, when looking at the set as a whole there was room for improvement. I think that there were areas of the release that suffered because if his apparent rush.

Now Jules is going to be revealed this week. Usually this close to reveal we would have seen a few teasers of the accessories or sculpt. So far we saw 2 WIP (with & without hair) and both looked like there was room for improvement. Not that he doesn't have the talent to nail this but even as Snyderman (Tom) once said to me: naturally the more time you put into a sculpt the better it will turn out.

Actually I really don't mind him speeding the pace because he wants to fit another release in for the year; I just want everyone one of these to feel like RM releases that are worth RM $$$. I'd actually love for him to bring us an extra character per year but not at the expense of diluting the brand. If he's able to pick up the pace and still deliver his usual standard then I'm all for it. If it has adverse effects, then maybe slowing down is a wiser choice.

Remember, he is working behind the scenes. He only showed the J charm so far but has been working on the other stuff as well. I hear ya on the quickness but really these pieces wont be released till he's happy with them. Even though there is a Bickle thread it's still a ways off.

I'm happy with Vincenzo myself. I believe theres always room for improvement on any release but if anything messed with his release at all it was us freaks first! :lol

Can't agree more. Truer words have never been spoken :lecture

Really anxious for this reveal for some reason.

I really hope the hair and goatee were addressed
