I think I'd also prefer a sculpted Jules hair... I'm worried it'd look out of place with Vince using the real hair. I will definitely trust Rainman's judgement though!

I just realized something... a lot of the top 1/6 companies and custom guys are all from Korea. Do they have a long history of miniature sculpting and painting? Great art schools? Seems fascinating to me.

I've wondered about that, as well. Must be something to it. Korean society is very distinct, I do know that.

I thought about that many times also. It may just have to do with Asia's role in the creating and collecting toys culture over the years. It's probably just an attractive medium and easy niche for young(er) Asian artists to gravitate to

I don't know if it's that. This is specific to Korea and not other Asian countries. Most of the Asian toys we've seen are from China or Hong Kong, but there aren't many well known Chinese sculptors vis-a-vis Korean ones. Japan is a hot bed of Asian collecting, but we don't see much coming from there, either. Could be there are sculptors and they just aren't working for these companies or doing custom work on their own in this medium, but I think there is more to it than that.

Could be that Korea is more open to kids doing work in artistic fields versus some other countries that are more interested in various other forms of business (manufacturing is huge there of course). Korea has been incredibly innovative on various fronts in the fields of science and medicine as well. To me this speaks to a broad level of creativity in their populace.

I wasn't trying to lump Koreans, Chinesse and Japennese in the same bunch although I do feel that their individual cultures (both historical and pop) have way more in common with each other than they do with the western world. If China has the production locked and Japan is who inspires collecting, maybe Korea's contribution to the culture has become the artwork.

Korea is now #1 in the world in terms of facial plastic surgery. Teens there are pretty casual bout it, some even got it for their sweet seventeen bday party gift from their parents.

Anyways back on topic, im personally interested in seeing in hand pics of these (since i know that i would be getting it next week the soonest :(). Wanna see actual inhand pic and none of those touched up, shopped pics.
