Not bagging on collections like that, I used to have a collection much like that, carded Star Wars figs, carded marvel figs, mint mcfarlane crap, all before discovering statues and 1/6 high end.

I have to say, the most liberating thing I ever did in collecting was ripping all of my figures out of their packages and selling it all as a loose lot on eBay, seriously all of that 90s carded stuff is never going to be worth more than you paid. I had a friend who also kept carded spawn figures, had damn near all of them and after several eBay auctions, the price got down to about $2 a figure and he let it all go.

A few years back I tried for months to unload the boxed, 12" Star Wars dolls, the ones released around 1997. I think they were retail about $20 a piece. I prided myself in their mint boxes for years. I had to keep lowering the price to get them to sell and I think when they finally sold it was around $7 a piece. All of those years of storage, proper handling and all, for nothing LOL

Keep and collect what you like but it felt so good to purge all of my toys and replace them with real Collectibles.

Well, i dont know how it all works. I just hope the person who has 3600 dollars / pounds to shell on this also has some brains. All i say is, whoever he/ she is, its their money and good luck to them. (Not just in collecting figures but just 'good luck' in life).

Leon this is how it works: one board member places an item for a high amount of money on eBay or the for sale board, he then sells it to another member who is his friend. No money is exchanged and the selling price for the item is now set at a very high fictional number. Then everybody that has that item sighs with relief because someone has created a high dollar market for their collectible , then some sap like me comes and buys it for x amount over actually price and you guys all laugh.......

Not really , there is no conspiracy theory , they are just extremely rare first editions that many missed out on and now are going back to complete their collections. If I could convince my wife that these are an investment I would try and buy one of the Bill V1.

Nothing foul with the v1 bill. It was mine. I sold it to joned, for more than he is asking. Totally fair price as I got messages asking to buy it afterwards.

I agree. Let's see u buy a figure for 10k ;) ... I will understand it all.

I didn't say that I would but you don't hear me saying a single bad word about whoever did or would

And I have spent big money on a couple of secondary market pieces. Please don't cry for me or wish me luck in life. I'm very happy with the choices I made and pieces I bought

Hey pop... You and i dont like each other.Thats ok. Let's just drop it here. Whoever can afford 3600 let them buy it. I can surely afford but i think its stupid to buy at that price. To each their own right? Let's save everyone 3600 words of our posts ;) ...

That's a great idea. Please do save us all 3600 words or your posts. We've heard it all many, many times and understand your feelings on multiple matters. MOST PEOPLE HERE DON'T NOT AGREE so it's pointless to keep painting these boards with the same crap

Do i look like i care for what most people think ... As for you, even your PMs have 3600 words. Am sure most of these people know that too! ...
Anyways... Carry on, am off with family for some Sunday fun. Let me know when you need another hug... That pain must kill you ...

WTF is this guy talking about :rotfl

Dude you had 1000 questions and I helped you out as I've helped MANY other guys who are newer to this niche of the hobby and have PM'd me for info (which would be considered by most as being a solid member in the community). I gave you a long and detailed PM answering everything and anything that you kept asking me about. You continuously throw it in my face. BELIEVE ME it's that and countless other reasons that I regret even wasting my time trying to help you to beging with. It's 45 minutes that I'll never get back

Zzzzzz...

I have a feeling that the high prices like that are on the way out.

I think u are right...

But Well, there will always be high prices. The H.T godfather last year was listed ebay at 7999 for most of last year. That does not mean thats the price for it. One on these forums was listed for 1200 or so. At the same time i had bought for 370. I know custom and HT have different buyer profiles (deeper pockets). But, some think its worth it and i think its stupidity to buy at these after market prices (not retail artist prices as they are fine and artist deserve what they work for) - thats all. Some people have too much money and will shell 10k and thats ok but THAT does not mean the figure deserves that price tag!

Here is how i look at things. Every time a desire like this comes across, i think my limit is 800-900 a figure give and take, post that i could do much better by diverting that money on my family (my lil 1/4 scale doll :) and my wife) than what i would do with a figure on my shelf.

I totally agree with you, I'm actually not holding on to them for the value its more sentimental I remember being a young man and spending my money to buy these and I've kept them for almost 25 to 28 years with me everywhere I went. Instead of having emotional baggage I have action figure baggage. My 12 or 15 Hot Toys figures are probably worth more than the combined 300 mint in package figures that I own. But to me its not the money it's about the experience it's about owning something that takes me somewhere else .I don't know if you're familiar with my medical condition , not too many on these forums are but I thank God everyday that I wake up so for me anything special at this time of my life. But yeah it makes me cry to see some of the Star Wars, Spawn and other figures worth less than retail, **** I probably couldn't give them away.

No collection is a bad collection and or crap. You like it, you adore it. What's money got to do with it. One must collect for themselves. Not to impress some nut cases here. U have sentimental values and more importantly one life, do what you like!
You like them you keep them, carded or otherwise. At least you can see your carded ones through the packaging. There are some smart arses here with 20000 dollar worth of figures and dont have 300 dollars worth of shelf space to display them. All boxed and stored waiting for values to spike.

Leon, loosen up man it's not that serious. I don't understand why your so offended by what Bill is worth. Your also comparing what people are speculating what somthing is worth to what some of these things actually trade for. That's the problem with you man. Do your research. There is a long history of more than multiple transactions of these Original V1 Bill the Butcher figures trading on average upwards of $4000 for the full set. It is what it is man and you just have to accept that you're never gonna get this figure for $800 bucks, people would rather keep it. That ship has sailed and you weren't on it. Respect the value of this figure man, it's legit and multiple people can bear witness to that type of money being exchanged for it. The problem isn't Bills legitimate secondary value and it's PROVEN track record of also holding it's value (evidenced by people will to shell out the money for it), the problem is everyone else thinks their **** is worth that kind of money too and as a result alot of newer collectors with 1st time buyer THIRST have gotten suckered into paying exorbitant prices for stuff that doesn't hold it's value as a collectable. Bill has been the source of many big money transactions and continues to hold value not because a person says so but because the numbers don't lie. It's in the books man....deal with it.

I am ok if i never get it thats the point. I just feel its not worth 4k. people can buy at 10k if they want. No issues at my end bro! ...
Simply put. People have right to buy at 10k and feel its worth it and i have the right to feel its not worth it. Its as simple as that.

You have all the right in the world to feel that way, but some of us are getting tired of reading post after post about.
