I think u are right...

But Well, there will always be high prices. The H.T godfather last year was listed ebay at 7999 for most of last year. That does not mean thats the price for it. One on these forums was listed for 1200 or so. At the same time i had bought for 370. I know custom and HT have different buyer profiles (deeper pockets). But, some think its worth it and i think its stupidity to buy at these after market prices (not retail artist prices as they are fine and artist deserve what they work for) - thats all. Some people have too much money and will shell 10k and thats ok but THAT does not mean the figure deserves that price tag!

Here is how i look at things. Every time a desire like this comes across, i think my limit is 800-900 a figure give and take, post that i could do much better by diverting that money on my family (my lil 1/4 scale doll :) and my wife) than what i would do with a figure on my shelf.

If it's not for you then it's no big deal but it's ridiculous to constantly preach against it the way you do. If you're weighing out what to do with your own $800-$900 and decide that it's better spent on your family then that's your prerogative the same way it's someone else's choice if they want to commission a $5000 piece. What's the issue? Why does it bother you so much? If you don't think it's worth it, no one is forcing you to do it! But to come right in the epicenter of high end custom collecting and continuously bash the behavior of the very people that make this entire community what it is, and make the way of things what they are is just crazy (honestly it just sounds like a whole lot of hating). It's like going into a packed lesbian bar, standing in the middle and screaming "what the hell is the matter with you chicks?! Why don't you go find some men or something??!!

You bash secondary market prices, hell you bash the original prices of some artists, you bash custom runs of accessories/outfits to upgrade a set.... you own 1 Rainman H&C and 1 Iminime set and you paint the boards (with pure conviction) praising one customizer to death while putting the other down. I'll tell you with conviction that you obviously don't know the first difference between Iminime and Rainman (or Beto for that matter) and I don't expect that it'll ever click for you because we've heard that 100 times too; all you "care about" or "respect" or whatever the hell else is the head sculpt. That's fine and all if that is YOUR main criteria in collecting but the large majority here doesn't feel the same way. For most of us a figure set doesn't end at the neck

So you can go to all the other collecting forums (stamps, comics, fine art, sneakers, screen used props, statues, antiques, The RPF, ETC., ETC., ETC.) an tell everyone that the stupid for spending their money on things that they collect that they enjoy and makes them happy. Tell them that you’d manage the money completely differently if you were in their shoes. Call them crazy or stupid for spending $20000 on a comic or $3000 on a stamp or $1000000 on a painting. Tell them that rarity or no other aspects should have anything to do with perceived values and that secondary markets shouldn’t exist. All items should never be sold for a penny more than the cost of the raw materials that it took to make them, and a reasonable hourly rate for the man hours it took to complete them! :lecture:lecture:lecture

i have the right to feel its not worth it. Its as simple as that.

Yes, and you've made your standpoint extremely well known. Spare us already!!

... That pain must kill you ...

The only pain that's killing me is this wicked hangover and reading your posts

I am ok if i never get it thats the point. I just feel its not worth 4k. people can buy at 10k if they want. No issues at my end bro! ...
Simply put. People have right to buy at 10k and feel its worth it and i have the right to feel its not worth it. Its as simple as that.

Sure you have the right to your feeling that you don't think it's worth 4k but that doesnt change the FACT that on average, proven by multiple transactions that is sells for that kind of money.

Agreed! ... You are right! ... In fact now you have convinced me. I think its quite low for 4k ...
Also i said over and out! Can we drop it! ...

Stop this madness, no one wants to hear it.
I can't afford a new ferrari so I drive a ford, but are people who have the money to buy a ferrari crazy? no, they're lucky to be able to buy and appreciate such a quality, rare piece of art. Same goes with many industries and trades, especially the custom art world. don't know why it's so hard for people to grasp.

^^ Word count... Ouch!
I said over and out, too much time bro? ...

Don't read it if it's too tough for you. Everone else will read it and most will agree :wave

Yes I have plenty of time today. But tomorrow it's back to being a "used car salesman" or a "luxury car salesman" or "benefiting off of others misery" or whatever other utterly moronic nonsense you say about me :rotfl:rotfl :slap :ohbfrank:
