Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

Seems like inbeween every rainman p.o and shipping, this value argument arises. They should all be $200 maximum. Hell, I like saving money, actually $50 per fig sounds good....

Do u think thats really going to happen? Prices and inflation in this hobby are warranted when it comes down to supply not meeting the demand with a limited release. pretty simple.

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

Whats funny is with every release more people are getting introduced to Rainman like I did on Bill V2, so it's only going to get worst. I hear a lot of commotion about Torrance, but in all actuality is that character that popular? IDK I liked the movie but there will be another stampede for him.

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

There are plenty of hobbies that are considered "Rich man hobbies"

1/6 custom figures is right up there and I believe they share the same "rare factor"

Take Coral Reef collecting for instance. You have to be licensed and buy the proper equipment and then find someone who actually grows these things.

People are paying top dollars for these reefs and for someone on the outside looking in you just scratch your head and say WTF!?!

I had a supervisor that used to have a tank back at his house with all this special equipment that would update on a webpage (Temperature, PH Levels etc..) and would notify him by email when something was off.

Why do people get into these types of hobbies? What gives? My guess is it makes them happy :)

Which makes me wonder if this Coral Forum has any *********s that like to ruin the hobby for everybody else by acting elitist and taking the hobby way too serious :lol :monkey3

As some one that makes some of these things, I'm sorry but I would prefer not to make about $3 an hour to meet that price point.

I, along with a few people i know, will be stampeding full steam ahead for Torrance.
but don't take it from just me.

Exactly!!! The artists deserve what they ask for their work, and the artwork speaks for itself, so the prices and aftermarket pricing is accurately set.
It's hard to drop hundreds sometimes thousands on one figure, but when it is in hand all those concerns seemingly fade away real quick.

I would say yes, there are definitely D-bags in the coral reef collecting world that have the best, rarest, OOAK most sort after specimen that all others want but can't have, and of course that makes said D-bags better than all :lol:lol.

Perceived value fuels every single collecting niche on this planet from fine art, to cars, to stamps, to watches, to comics, to toys, to sneakers, to sports memorabilia, to coral fkin' reefs, to............

Why do some people have such a hard time getting this?? :ohbfrank:

It's going to depend on the final outcome but if this turns out how we're all hoping, it'll be a worse bloodbath than all the Overlook murders combined

the sad part is...it WILL come out as we all hoped and some more. So bloodbath is ensured, the question is...who survives and who gets empty carts?

Yeah I can see some reef collector outing another for being a flipper and not being a "real reef collector"

There also has to be a reef collector equivalent to an Odell (I know you are reading this Odell with one of your 50 accounts)

Than the constant back and forth between the "Hot Toys" reef collectors that buy from farmed reefs and some collectors that have authorization to take straight out of the ocean.

I wont lie though I would like to know who the Elvis1976 of reef growers is. lol
