Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

My belt and knives are going to be as screen accurate as possible. I have a company laser cutting blades for Amsterdam so if all goes well I will be able to have the same done on Bill's. Also will mean the price should be $250 mark for a set.

I'm down for whatever Bill accessories you are offering again, Robbie. hats, Shoes, knife belt, all that business. Since you're tied up with Amsterdam, I guess i'll wait for your interest thread :) Thanks a lot!

With the knives and hats, Robbie is helping folks put together Ultimate Bills, for sure.

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

Will definitely have the hat and shoes again. I only have about another month of work and then its full tilt 1:6 till August. Can not wait!

Im super excited to get the knives and belt going. I have been thinking about how they will all go together for two years. Finally sourced everything I need and the process is defined. I will get a proto going as soon as I can.

Twins, Paul appeared to get some quick cash for leading Daniel to the land and never appeared again. Eli had it bad...:lol

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

Yeah I understand when Daniel said " your brother was the smart one he got 10,000 and started his own bussiness" Now I get it. Yeah I would like to bash a Bill V1 , my sweet hippopotamus scrotum.

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

who would pay this much though?

All this crap is just to hype up the price, by such ebay listings of 10 k ... If anyone finds it for abt 2 odd k on threads will be like wow what a deal i got etc... I say just ignore any figure over 1.5k... Not worth it... I promise u even rainman will laugh if u do buy at stupid prices... ;) ...
A lil here and there is fine... But beyond 1.5x or 2x cost one must learn to live without things. Nothing can be so important...

I think i totally agree with you.... By comparison to 6, getting at 2 will sound like an amazing deal... Never the less i would never pay over the odds for sthg.. Even 1500 sounds too much

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

Exactly...if people buy things at face value, less will be chances of flippers trying to hijack stuff when things go for sale. I completely agree that anyone can list any price and any one can buy at any price, and we are no one to say what's right... But yeah audacity and boldness are two completely different things and so are, stupidity and passion... We as buyers if behave responsibly, flippers will be biting the bullet.
I think many people list stuff on ebay to hike the sale thread prices. (And even if that's not the case... My personal yardstick is 1.3x plus PayPal or shipping etc, on anything aftermarket... Beyond that..,its a plain simple "sorry" .. Don need it ... thank you... :)

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

Prices are only relevant to the money you make, ten thousand dollars to one person does not translate ten thousand to others. For instance when I worked in Hollywood and made top dollar I would spend three to four hundred dollars on designer jeans, blow two hundred dollars on Sushi and so forth. Now with my teaching job and my wife and I running our own business I can still afford those luxuries but they are just not practical, I will buy my jeans at Walmart and get a five dollar foot long! (That’s what she said). I own over six hundred action figures MIP and have about 15,0000 comic books and you know what they are only worth what someone will pay for them. To me they are priceless but in for some unseen event they were taken away from me, I would just start all over collecting again.

One time I started to tally up all the worth of my collection and came to the conclusion if I sold and I got 1/2 of what it was worth I would be lucky. Now these are He-Man, Star Wars, Spawn, Marvel, DC, Image, etc. house hold names in comics and toys. Customs being in a smaller more exclusive side of collecting can assure rarity and sometimes better quality, but those figure designers will fade away and be replaced. Think of it this way if you had a Rocket Firing Boba Fett or a Version 1 Bill the Bucher DX selling years from now both are extremely rare and sought after, but who’s Rainman to the average Joe? I collect to please myself and sometimes to try and make a few bucks but in the long run a collection is only worth what you get out of it and what someone one will pay for it. Plus when we die no one of it goes with us so eventually someone is going to give our **** away or throw it away LOL

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

lakhota, which is the right thing to do. collect for yourself. pay 10k if you want to, but much of it is hype. all i am saying is beyond a point even your derived pleasure out of a 2k figure would be limited. someone will come up with a better version, better accesories etc. even if someone does not there are so many great figures coming out and am sure our interests dont peg at that one figure. so even if i had 10k i would possibly buy 15 other great figures than just 1 figure and exactly so for a 2k or a 3k figure. draw the line. if that line is 10k - be it...
i was looking at the income thread here on the forum and am sure most people on this thread are in top 20 pct. i dont think i am being single income, and even if i was there is so much better i can do for my family with that kind of money.
i as is over spend with a custom figure a month and sometimes GBU or a BRBA will throw you in a different field with a lot of cash outflow. so ... why spend 2k or 3k on just one single figure... is all i say (again to each his own and for every one such person there is a married flipper out there and also a genuine seller)

I say again....

Are you sure you're in the right hobby bro? :rolleyes2

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

Agree with PCK, I think you're in the wrong hobby, Leon. Such limited collectibles are sort after and therefore the price gets inflated, that's life.

For this particualr item (V1 Rainman Bill the Butcher), the subject matter and the value it holds is 100% warranted. It is well recognized that this is an important figure in 1/6. It echoes throughout the entire hobby and has for some years now. From the Top (Hottoys) to the bottom (common kitbashers) this figure holds weight. Certainly Top 3 Greatest 1/6 figures evermade. Some things need to be priced or valued at a certain tier because that's what preserves well made things and nods at the achievement of someone's skill. When somthing is well made, the measure of value in dollars forces you to notice and that's important. 10k isn't alot of money. I wouldn't sell this for 10k on a desperate day. Not nearly enough of
these exist and everything about it is very genuine and special especially when you consider it's place in the scope of just how big the 1/6 industry has gotten.

One day...I'm gonna say that too. One day...

Re: [Rainman Artwork]The Butcher V2 MARCH PREORDER

There are plenty of hobbies that are considered "Rich man hobbies"

1/6 custom figures is right up there and I believe they share the same "rare factor"

Take Coral Reef collecting for instance. You have to be licensed and buy the proper equipment and then find someone who actually grows these things.

People are paying top dollars for these reefs and for someone on the outside looking in you just scratch your head and say WTF!?!

I had a supervisor that used to have a tank back at his house with all this special equipment that would update on a webpage (Temperature, PH Levels etc..) and would notify him by email when something was off.

Why do people get into these types of hobbies? What gives? My guess is it makes them happy :)

Which makes me wonder if this Coral Forum has any *********s that like to ruin the hobby for everybody else by acting elitist and taking the hobby way too serious :lol :monkey3
