Its crazy the trike used un the film isn't in a prop museum or hasn't been displayed anywhere

The best I can find is this exhibit, but this is probably not the most credible.

I wasn't being facetious I was hoping someone would purchase it that wanted it. Instead of just sitting up there unattended then expiring after seven days. Natural born killers would be a good follow up

Wouldn't be my first choice by a long margin, but would still be cool to see.

That's it. Thanks. Bell and pedals are wrong for sure. The neck of the frame is right. I'll be adding in the silver bits at the top and bottom.

Hi all,

I included the above to give some reference to Kubrick's use of the twins in the movie (Lakhota, I think(?) said correctly that Grady's girls were "8 and 10", and yet they appeared as the "Twins" we now know and love). As I understand it, it was Stan's interpretation as director - and when you thought about it later (perhaps at a second or third viewing), it had an unsettling effect and creeped you out - like the dogman, or whatever he was, or bleeding head man "...great party, what?". It all just kept the viewer on edge as the movie wound down into the maelstrom of madness that made it the masterpiece that it was (starting to sound like Maltin, damn!)
Now, the b/w photo is a well-known artwork (but I can't be bothered finding out who's work it is!). Suffice it to say, a lot has been written about it, and specifically about the "grotesque" or "unsettling" or "ugly" aspect of the mundane, or blandness, as its reflected between the two girls. Look it up if you're interested - quite insightful.
Anyway, I'm led to believe Kubrick referenced the famous photo as his inspiration for the twins and wanted to capture that same "grotesque-ness"(?) in the movie. Which I think we all agree, he succeeded in doing. I mean, damn...they're more scary alive than we see them all...um...in pieces.
Soooo...now we come to RM's sculpt. Is anyone still reading this? It's a yawner, this post, sorry!
I'm on record as saying I'm an artist. Not a sculptor - although I have sculpted (my specialty was oils). I got a piece of paper from a university that said I could paint...and drive a taxi...and tend bar...and ask, "do you want fries with that?". Now I am a kindy teacher.
Anyway(!)...I buy figures on sculpt, first. If I don't like the H/S, doesn't matter who they are, I ain't buying it. I mean, I love Brando, but don't own a single figure because I haven't yet seen a sculpt I(!) like. And yes...I refrained from buying Dull Jack, because I wasn't sold (Turbo got it when he talked about the "perverted creepy" look(?)). But, it's all subjective - as art always is, and must be. What I love, others won't. And that's what's cool about collecting.
But having said all that, I bought the twins because (a) I really like Lee's "take" on them (see above: the "horror of mundanity"), and (b) They carry enough "subtext" to succeed in immediate identification to the source material and from there, the movie, itself. (Case in point: I showed a picture of the completed Twins, taken from Lee's site, to a female co-worker yesterday. Her response? "Ugh...redrum! They'd give me nightmares!!!" SUCCESS!!!). Not only did she immediately identify the movie, the 1/6 Grady girls gave her the jitters!!!
I bought from what I saw and liked what I saw. I think we all have to do that, as we can't honestly expect Lee to make any significant, or other, changes, now. And I don't want him to! Don't make any changes! I'm happy!

Man, that was longer than I thought it would be. Congrats to those who bothered to get through it. You win a bun.
Cheers, m.

I think Lee has some type of color filter on the photos because they look like their Technicolor like something that would be on Instagram. I'm not sure

I think so too, cause it looks a lot more color accurate here unfiltered.

All I can say is, the more I look at that carpet, the more I want to chop up family members and pile them, like cordwood, in the east wing...
Um...did that come out like words?

Definitely a filter on the pics Turbo, when you look at the small pic of the Torrance set the jacket is burgundy, but once you click to see all product photos the filter makes the jacket look more purple. Same with the carpet

Turbo - sayin this as a friend (overstatement I guess :) but honestly - You jumped on me asking me the number of figures I have when I just said that don't look at all those pictures in studio lighting - things always look quite different (for good or for bad)

Again I am not trying to fight just saying stuff looks very different without that lighting and fortunately in this case probably it will be more accurate than what you can see.

He has also put a "color boost" on his pictures you can see the blue on Danny's clothing - bright as if in back lighting and I can guarantee it will not be that bright in real.
