This man deserves every cent he gets but he doesn't deserve to be bombarded with painting 75-100 headsculpts. I'm so glad that the hype train is slowly coming to a hault. Now he can go back to doing more characters per year but much smaller runs. I hope he continues to have the courage to do the characters he loves, the niche and the obscure, without the threat of customers not willing to buy characters unless it's what's popular. We all have our wants and grails but it's better when a character isn't for everbody, it means he can move onto other characters sooner. Very thankful that he's had the energy to see this project through because it's massive and yet he still takes it one step at a time. :clap

Bombarded sounds so negative.... I am sure he is not burdened with the big payday that came from doing all of this hard work. It is a business after all.

Well, it was always his decision as to how many he chose to paint. Allowing the open ended edition size meant he was willing to paint as many as were willing to pay.

Agreed. Marge Gunderson should be his next release, despite the lack of mass support :duff

It's a point of view. I couldn't tell you what he's thinking but I'm pretty sure any artist will tell you that boredom and fatigue set in if your working on an assembly line doing the same thing day in day out for months or years. I'm also willing to bet that more money doesn't mean more enthusiasm....otherwise guys like SilentSurfer would be painting Heisenberg and Joker headsculpts all day.

I'm definately in for a Marge as a future release, especially when I think about how awesome a wood chipper with leg DX item would look and the juxtaposition of posing her next to Anton. It would make for a great character and if it were to get made id support it. But Rainman doing these extremely important genre horror films back to back is too interesting at the moment. While Fargo is an expertly crafted film, no way has it had the psychological impact that exorcist had on cinema goers/society in general. That film touched some real emotions, made people react in a way that I'm fairley sure has been studied and documented, and genuinely tested a movie goers threshold like no other film after it. Kubrick was intimidated by it and Hitchcock probably thought it was masterful.

Exactly. This method of ordering was his idea because he wanted everyone that was present during the window who wanted one to get one. He knew what to expect. If he thought that this was going to reach the astronomical numbers that some thought it would, I doubt he'd be open to it. It looks and sounds like he maybe produced 20 (+/-) more sets than usual. I'm glad he did this, and it seems like it worked out well for both us and him.
