Sorry, late to the party and couldn't be ****ed reading all the other posts. Just wanted to have my opinion like everyone else.
There seems to be a lot of broken records in this thread. Glad I could hop on board :lol:lol:lol

Lee posts picture of axe sculpt - everyone just argues and it basically goes unmentioned.
Who cares about the politics. Just look forward to the artwork.

I find it funny that people are on the fence with this now with the new ordering system haha, I thought Rainman figures were desired because of the amazing details and artistry of his work, not because of the limited nature, and don't throw the quality deterring excuse at me because that's just a slap in the face to what you think of Lee's abilities then, I'm sure he can handle it, but basically what it all comes down to is no one knows for sure how anything will go so no one is right here but Lee, ie wait and see.

I will keep my post simple. I want to avoid a pig fight this Christmas.

Most importantly: I think - let rainman decide what he wants to do. His art, his dollars, his efforts , his brand and his fans. his call!

Some points:

1) May be to provide the best quality figure rainman should do 1 release of 1 figure each every time. That way rarity, quality and collectibility will be preserved till eternity. If you support for it i will back you up ;)

2) flippers are plenty. When you miss a figure, and it's shipment times you will see how many pm you get. And at stupid price quotes. Usually laughable. No fault of flippers. It's like blaming a hooker for all the evils in the world. That's why i buy nothing aftermarket.

3) In fact these days my dad (who is now 79) made my conscious hurt miserably on why I don't buy license products and how unfair an advocate of these things I have become. I felt a bit ashamed rather than proud and my wife has been pointing that to me ever since I bought the first product. She keeps saying "you fight for a certificate of authentication on a product that's not licensed or authorized to begin with! " - I can't get rid of my addiction but i have cut it down drastically and have set a timeline to slowly back out of customs. Not strong enough yet! And I am bold enough to admit but weak enough to change :(

4) To me - it does not even matter as I am not a big fan of the movie. I just want real fans to have a fair shot.

Lastly we need to be genuine to the artists as well, people are already jumping and "wowing" and "phenomenal-ing" an unpainted axe. I mean come on let's be fair so that the artists also respect our views! And by just orgasming seeing an unpainted axe is more like idol worship than anything. I mean... Let's celebrate when we see the figure nothing against that - but unpainted axe seriously?

I think the flipper excuse is being way overexaggerated to be honest. It's being used as a major excuse in favor of convenience by pointing the finger at the VIP structure created for Rainmans dedicated and long time support base in an effort to avoid having to deal with the limited nature of Rainman's products which in my opinion protects and keeps intact the collectibility, quality, and desire for the product more than anything.

First of all an open ended release will not deter flippers from buying this. It will probably invite more who have no interest in this character at all just for the prospect of selling it off eventually.

Secondly, and more importantly, this is directed at everyone who is using the flipping excuse.....Where is the evidence? Where is it evident that rampant flipping is going on? I would be in total agreement if I saw that there was a large trend of collectors who are buying Rainmans work with only with the intention of selling it but I just don't see that. Other than the casual sale, I've only ever maybe seen 1 or 2 members on here that are always stuck in a constant cycle of buying and selling off their Rainman figures, one member in particular who most of you respect because these individuals have become a great resource for your convenience with regard to aquiring clothing, parts and sculpts and as a result get a "pass".....That's the hypocrisy of these boards. So why are some of you pointing fingers with regard to flipping when most of y'all on the flipping bandwagon are in bed with these proven track record flippers on other projects. Why.......because of convienience.

Sideshow Collectables should be convenient, Hottoys should be convenient. Rainman handmade figures have no business being a product of convenience in my opinion. It's what I would suggest to this man if I were a part of his operation.

Like I find it funny that some freaks that hardly ever buy fullsets still feel the need to criticise them that do. For those shelling out every time on a fullset, I think it's only fair they have a voice.

Who criticizes people for buying Fullsets over H&C? Doesn't matter how much money you spend, if you spend a dollar or 800 doesn't mean anyone of you are right because Of how much you've spent, it's Lee decision and if you support Lee then support how he chooses to do business or if you don't then don't buy, there is no point arguing over it, voice your opinion with your wallet.

got in contact with RM and now all is well...thanks for all the suggestions guys....really appreciate all the help and PMs...:)...

I can't really follow any of your rhetoric, not sure what point your trying to make without it sounding overly sarcastic, but why is wowing a work in progress sculpt or accessory not being genuine? Your not a fan of this film as you previously mentioned, but if you were than you would have instantly noticed that the "Axe" at its present WIP stage already shows signs of improvement over any other previous 1/6 attempt at it, and I can very easily tell that it hits the mark of accuracy because just from that photo, it gives off the illusion of proper heft and scale....these are things that a fan would notice in an instant.

Glad to see someone here actually being excited about the figure and how cool it might be. Should be an awesome figure, indeed! :hi5:
