Hello, it's Rainman.

It's been so long since I've last written to you.

I had too many things to do.

I also had to say good bye to one of my best friend who had passed away by car accident,

so this winter became disaster for me.



Now many things have been cleared up until now, and I have things to let you know before I release

Jack that I'm currently working on.

I really hope you to respect on my decision because I thought a lot about this desicion.

I already made this decision so please don't send me email of complains or rethink.

Emails of support on my ideas are welcomed so I'll reply to those mails. haha..










As you all know, current VIP members were once standard members. And some of the members

couldn't become VIP members so couldn't get full set or DX. I'm sure that those must be very disappointing.

Some probably bought my doll from ebay with higher price than the original price.

I was very impressed that there are people who bought the dolls in that high prices because they love my dolls.

On the other side, I'm not just happy.

It's because rising prices means there must be some people who will buy my dolls to sell out in high price.

Getting premeium on price can be good thing to the artist, but can be chance to lose the fans.

I want to tell you one story of my childhood.

When I was young, I was too poor to get the things I wanted to have.

Materials were expensive, so did tools.

So I had to sculpt dolls by myself, and then that made Rainman now.

I fully understand how heartbreaking it is if you cannot get what I really want to have.

As you all know, to become a VIP members, people has to buy more than 3 dolls to be eligible.

How can I not know because it's the rule I made.

I want to give an opportunity to my loving fans who are not VIP to buy $1000 dolls in $2000-$3000.

(it doesn't mean that I sell discontinued dolls)













Therefore Once a year, I want to offer an opportunity to purchase full set or DX to who are not VIP members.

I know there are some people who are worrying and disagreeing that their dolls worth get dropped if the quantity of dolls increase. Price of diamonds don't get down if there are too many diamonds. I believe that the price dropping isn't always because of

the increase of quantity. There must be some other reasons.

Especially my dolls cannot be sold hundreds in a minute even if I open to standard members because of the price range.

So I hope you to not worry about this.



I know there are some of you buy my dolls to sell again. It won't be a good news for you and you'll disagree

with unreasonable reasons.



However, it's impossible to make both VIP and standard members satisfied at the same time.

If one is happy, the other one won't be happy.

But we can make a way to make everybody happy.

It's the one stretch our hand to other.

That's the perfect peace










My old VIP members will know my true feeling. They even help me out.

They are my strength.

With that strength, I want to offer an opportunity to Stadnard Members who just faced new year.

Existing VIP members of course can order ealier as always.



On the other words,

Jack can be purchased by standard members as well.

But I'll open the sales button for one day only.

I will open ordering button for only one day and won't be sold again forever.

One more thing,

I used to sell DX first, then once DX sold out, I relased outfit set and heads.

That also caused shipping mistakes as well.

This also was the case of Driver's shipping accidents.

If I open the ordering page for one whole day withour limits, you can order several items in one shopping carts

without hurrying. That will improve ordering system better and you don't have to wait for wrong sent heads.

And I will open to you the list of orders.

If there's only one sold, the serial number will issue 1 only.

If 50 are sold, the serial number will be 1/50.

It will be very accurate and clear.

Open ended orders for Full/DX sets ranging from $2000-$3000 sounds resonable, which I think he's saying if it gets to a certain price point than it's only fair to offer it on a standard basis. I also like that he said it will only be a once a year type of thing. I Just hope that quality of paintwork is maintained. It's still possible that single figure orders can get out of hand, and see plenty of opportunity for resellers to abuse the 24hour open order by racking up on just Jack Torrance's to sell off later or any number of other items, so I don't totally agree that it will deter the chronic resellers, but it is an optimistic explaination from Rainman. Let's see how it works out. I'm relieved I can take my time over the 24 hours alloted and place my order in peace.

Going by all past releases, that's the time for public orders. VIP goes up randomly in the days before usually

And I'm not sure if I fully understand, but I'm interpreting this to mean that the for one figure per year he will allow non-VIP members to order and cap the order at however many are placed with in the window of time (24 hours in this case).

What I'm a bit confused by is what the $1,000, $2,000 and $3,000 amounts play into it. Does that mean that only sets that cost between $2,000 and $3,000 would be eligible for this, or that what would cost $1,000 for a VIP would cost $2,000-$3,000 for a non-VIP; essentially charging the standard person more to acquire the figure they might otherwise not be able to get.

I think he means the after market prices people pay. Instead of paying retail from him, they pay marked up prices just to get one.

I think with the 1000-3000 range in pricing,...it almost appears that RM is trying to corner the after market sells...HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA....not saying that that's his intention BUT read it again...he is saying that his customers that are willing to pay 1000 should get a chance to buy them for 2000-3000...from him....i'm sure he is assuming that he DOESN'T want his customers to buy them for those prices but if he is....not bad business acumen...but this might deter the folk that "say" they are RM fans....lol...when does VIP go up?

Well honestly this is exactly what I was saying for way too long! The real price is the price that the artist gets for his creation.
He is the one who should have the choice to price it the way he wants, sell it the way he wants. Reality is aftermarket sales (if purely driven on demand) in reality take $$$ away from lee as well so that affected everyone involved except flippers! And I think he just flipped the flippers

Yes that's the only issue though. There may not be much science in that and that's the only aspect that worries me. So if a 1000 dollar doll is sold for 2500 then that's already a flipper price. (Which is ok by me but that may not fly for all his releases)

For instance I may not be as big a fan to shell out 2500 for shining, for instance many would not have shelled so much for bickle (considering it was being sold in massive quantities even before shipment)

So the test of the waters would be - will people she'll 2k more just off the bat! I mean if a 1000 figure was sold for 1300-1500 or a 1500 was sold for a nominal premium 1750 or 2000 the math may make sense. (Don't mean to be offensive am just thinking aloud) but 2x to 3x right off the bat may be a challenge!

its all pure speculation on my part...I know there is a language barrier so I just ran with what he said...

although given with what he said I definitely think he meant to say that instead of fans paying the ridiculous 2-3k pricing...he will leave it open so that they can indeed get them at the regular selling price of 1000(+)...

its just that his writing leaves open for the interpretation that he may be taking over an after market...uhmmm...market...

What I get from it is:

1) He will only be doing the 24hour order only once per year which means that Jack is the 24hour order for 2015. Whatever else he manages to get done this year will go back to the old way of doing business

2) If a DX reaches retail prices of $2,000 or $3000 dollars (as a result of all that's included in the package) than naturally those will be offered on an open ended basis.

I didn't take from it that he was going to start charging resale prices for his normally priced 1k figures at all. I don't know why anyone would interpret it that way.
