Seriously man, when did collecting become a **** measuring contest and showing off who can afford more than others, buy what you like, buy what you can afford, but don't ridicule others who can't.

Yeah never understood elitest collectors who brag their figure cost them 4 grand then bash (no pun intended) those who either cant afford it or went a different route with the character. To each his own i say.

I think both Turbo and Leon have got it right - this is a forum, and people are invited, should they choose, to express opinions. But there are rules. And limits to how those opinions and thoughts can be expressed. Leon is correct in saying that there doesn't need to be such hostility. I'm also new to this site (and so, sadly, my opinion will count for nothing to some), but express it I will. This is, first and foremost, a hobby. Nothing more. Nothing less. In the great scheme of things that is life, I'll wager that our 1/6 collections will mean very little, one day.
But they give us pleasure, now. So, it's understandable that some of us get passionate - and there's nothing wrong with that. It only matters when the hostility and the aggression weighs in.
I read a few posts back of a collector who stays away from these streams because of the vitriol...do we want that? As a newcomer, I myself worry about other new collectors coming onto this site and being exposed to the pedantry and downright poison that, at times, seems to permeate these discussions.
It all seems so pointless.
For my own two cents, as an ex-cop and qualified fine artist (which allows me to drive cabs and sling burgers), Rainman does not need the nit-picking or the "just-looking-over-your-shoulder" "helpful" suggestions.
Does anyone wonder why there are so few WIP shots? God knows, I wouldn't be posting anything until the work's complete! It just draws the crabs, as we say here in Australia (probably another reason for some to completely disregard this post!).
We've opined on price - when there isn't one. We've done hairstyles to death - when we've seen so little. We've bickered over DX vs. Full Sets vs. H&C's - when there really isn't anything to bicker over. We've even argued about how Lee wants to offer his own creations to the market! Wow, that's bordering on the insulting, I think. All will be revealed Saturday.
It's a forum. A place to visit and chat. As friends caught up in a wonderfully engaging...hobby.
Let's keep it that way. Cheers, and thanks for reading. Michael.

That is what I love about Rainman.
Its not elite only collectible.
He gives everyone a chance to own his figure. If you have the money, there's a DX for you and even some more extras.
If you cant afford a DX, you can get a fullset.
If you cant afford it, There's a head and clothing option.
And even if you still can't afford that, you can buy his headsculpt (painted or unpainted) at an affordable price so you can bash a one of your collection.

This. **** measuring needs to stop. :dunno

Yes he really does accomodate his fans and customers in every way he can. Always liked that as well.

Wow, extremely well put, really appreciate a well written response like this, nicely done.

This has been my point all along........ The h+ c sets are there for a reason and a good reason for the guys who can't afford the full figures.
Sometimes this hobby is like being at play school when kids get bullied because their parents can't afford something and Then there's that rich kid who is never happy with what he has.

If I'm brutally honest the one thing I hate about this hobby is the bitching! False statements that are thrown around....... I'm glad I'm not on my own with my thoughts haha! :rotfl

There are no boys here we are all men so let's act like it.

Robbie where were you when Rainman done peewee haha? Robbie Pee wee bike that would of been awesome I know gary did one but would of been curious to see you do the bike.

On another, more pleasant note, this is the scene that I think Rainman was capturing when he did the sculpt.
The second I saw his painted proto, I thought of Mr Torrance's somewhat famous response to the, erm...lady in the bath (the first one, that is!).image.jpg

Anyone's thoughts? m

Yes! Well said Michael.:lecture Life is too Short! Live every day to the Fullest! As Michael said, One day our 1/6 collection will mean nothing! When i die, i will be cremated. Taking Jimi with me! :lol Bring on The Reveal!:yess:. Rainman is about to shock the 1/6 World with Jack, Danny And Twins!:clap

I wouldn't say the H&CS are only there for people who can't afford the full sets. Some people prefer to have their sculpts painted by a different artist or, don't need the fullset exclusive item( except for a few releases they aren't ever essential to the character )

The lower part of the face mouth and smirk are very similar but the eye brows are too raised for that scene. At least going off the way the sculpt is angled in RM's picture,He seems to have sculpted the eyebrows from a different scene. Its an amalgamation
