Rainman is such a better painter than Aeon? I don't see the purpose of all the questions about who is painting the twins unless she sucks, and he's like Michelangelo. I have only one headsculpt from Rainman, so I suppose Aeon did the paintjob - and it's very good.

Heya...just to clarify: I'm new to Rainman's work (I only have a DX Bill V2 and the Taxi Drivers). My (albeit limited) understanding thus far has been that RM's work is well, yes...exceptional, while Aeon's was not quite as...exceptional, yeah? But having said that, I read with interest that much of the work that Aeon did with Bill 2 seemed, to many, to be on a par with Lee's. But again, I've just read stuff about the driver's eyes and stuff like that.

With the longer offer time on this set of pieces, I think I'd be pushing it expecting Lee to do all the paintwork.
Again, it's just academic.

Wonder if he still talks to Tony?

Thanks for raising this again on my behalf, Turbs, and thanks Chili, but could we possibly get some hard-and-fast on this? Perhaps Darth Magnus?

Will the twins all be painted by Rainman?

I'd be very surprised if they were, considering the larger than average run on this edition, but, if anyone can shed light, I'd be most grateful - it's kind of a deal maker/breaker for me.
Cheers!

That was a very good worry to have, because I now also have the same concern.

For the Grand Package or Separate Twin sets it would be completely Unacceptable if anyone other than Rainman painted the headsculpts for Jack, Danny and the twins.

Here is what I think will happen inorder to lessen the work load for Rainman.

I'm assuming that:

RAINMAN will paint all headsculpts for Grandpackage Twins, Jack, Danny...... DX Jack and Danny.......and seperate Twin release because we paid premiums for them

but;

Aeon/team will paint the hands, arms, legs and shoes for Twins, Jack, Danny.

and;

Aeon/team will paint the accessories and H&C set headsculpts.

anything other than that will be UNACCEPTABLE for me, for the prices we pay for the Grand, DX and Seperate Twin offering.

This is one of the reasons why I'm not the biggest fan of a 24 hour open order process. It's not about the attraction to the limited edition aspect as much as it's about our concerns over a drop in quality as a result of painting fatigue or just the natural boredom an artist would get from painting an assembly line of hundreds of headsculpts that could be the result of doing too much when these types of items have to be capped at some point in order to maintain the highest quality of standards for paint and clothing fabrication which are the signature benchmarks of Rainman products. It's what we've been shown we're paying for.

This is only an assumption but those who are helping Rainmam communicate with the forum members will hopefully clarify.

Yeah Turbo, I have to admit, even though we're both speculating (and there's ultimately little point in that), when I posted that query, I found myself certainly thinking of those people who had bought Grand Packages and the like, and wondered whether the open order system would be of detriment to them.
I certainly agree that, if you outlay the big dollars, you are entitled to what you would normally expect (that is, the usual attention to detail and paintwork by RM).
But before anyone gets hot under the collar, I think we should now just be patient and see how this pans out.
It's mere speculation at this point.
I'd LIKE Lee to paint the twins (as it appears that will be my sum total purchase), I have to say (again) that I really can't EXPECT it - I have to be fair to those collectors who have shelled out more $$$.
Let's wait and see how the non VIP orders go, shall we?

I actually find true art and likeness in shoe and hand details so rainman has to paint those too. Anything else is unacceptable.

I agree 100%. I want nothing more than Rainman to paint the Twins and Jack head sculpt more than anything else. It's also what I'm very much expecting aswell.

This man knows his business better than anyone. I made the terrible mistake of anticipating a problem with the twins hair without giving him the benefit of doubt that he more than anyone would know why it's important for the Twins to have subtle different aspects from each other inorder to distinguish Twin 1 from Twin 2. Sure enough that detail was there and both are very much twins but also discernible.

So I don't expect anything less than the hands of the Master to paint those beautiful headsculpts.

God I can't stop looking at the pictures! So happy I decided to go with the DX, Danny on that unfinished trike looks AMAZING, can't wait to see him on the fully done up shiny finished trike!

I've never bought from Rainman before. How much of a difference is there between Rainman's paintwork and Aeon's paintwork?
It varies from piece to piece. Rainman sometimes paints heads with a little more color. Some members actually got a Rainman painted sculpt repainted when they thought the lips were too bright and unrealistic on one release. Aeon does an excellent job (way better than DF Studios IMO, which was his old assistant paint shop), but can paint Caucasian sculpts fairly pale, and sometimes doesn't imbue as much life into her paintwork IMO. She also gave Bickle huge irises.

Buckles iris` cause the most reason for worry imo.

Heya Stiff, to be fair, I'd want you to have RM's paint job if you'd purchased a full set or Grand Latte deluxe. I'm not bagging Aeon's work by any means, (as I said, I've got nothing to compare it to) I'm only going by what I've read that has been posted by other collectors (far more in the know than me!) on this site.
But you're right, I certainly don't want this particular line of discussion to become a full-blown "issue" and have people worrying about things that may not be a valid concern.

The Bickle issue was an isolated case though. I've had several of her painted sculpts, and that was the only one where that happened.

I love Danny and the trike so much. I'm damn tempted, but at the end of the day I'm not sure I'll be able to justify that price. I'm on the fence as to whether I'll get the Jack H+C (you could buy almost 5 of those for the price of the DX!), the Jack full set, or the DX.
