There are a lot of wants and the possibilities are endless. I would like to see more support from everyone when rainman chooses a project. We should be happy someone is getting their want instead of bashing the project and hoping it fails. I wouldnt want snake or teddy to feel alienated either.

We are too small a percentage thats in this 1/6 hobby and to fight is just silly. Im not saying to dig in your closets for your pom poms, but be happy for your peers.

And no i haven't been smoking

I've said this before, but custom artists always seem to be a magnet for conflict in general, because folks have their favorites, and they will faithfully defend their favorites against any criticism, and will sometimes suggest that other artists (which have their own supporters) aren't as good, and conflict/bad feelings come out, etc.

Rainman's projects get even more heated because, in my opinion, of the fact that he allows so much input. Folks start thinking that these are glorified commissions, and have a vested interest in getting their figure made or getting their tweaks made at the expense of others, and again, bad feelings come out when someone thinks that folks aren't thinking of others, or aren't being fair, or if someone isn't getting their way, or whatever.

This ties back into the sculpt mods. I know this Pee-Wee could use some adjustments for accuracy's sake, but when folks start making complaints about it, and Rainman responds, it reinforces that idea that these are glorified commissions and not his works of art that are set out there for people to buy or not buy.

I'm not trying to criticize anyone here. I completely understand folks wanting great figures by Rainman that meet their expectations of how great and accurate he is capable of making these things. And I get why Rainman tries to appease his customers. He's running a business, after all.

But the logical consequence is stuff like we've seen today. Members getting pissed and frustrated at each other, throwing insults, and in one case (of a good guy actually, who just happens to have people angry at him because of his apparent relationship with Rainman) apparently leaving the forum.

None of this is worth that in my opinion. Collecting this stuff isn't supposed to be this level of serious business. It's supposed to be a fun past-time. And stuff like today takes part of the fun away, and I think that sucks. [/rant over]

Teddy, you can't just openly praise Rainman for his sculpt and then secretly badmouth it and other members without being called out on that. This here is much bigger than you. It gets a little annoying when you always want to be the guy whose hands are always on the ******* steering wheel. Plus, you get testy when new members want in on the Rainman experience. We got money too my brother!

I would Rather Rainman make all future announcements. We communicate with him very well on these boards and it leaves out the possibility of self interested motives getting in the way when you act like a vessel for his future projects. Fall Back already, Dude.

Well I'll be honest and weigh in here with a tiny opinion since I don't think it's very nice to talk smack behind people's backs.

Teddy it seems your a flavor of the week kinda guy. You see a movie for the first time or first time in a while, and it's all the sudden your avatar and sig, and new grail piece, you push very hard all the sudden to get a thousand dollar figure made from RM, and you do have alot of influence over him, and then as soon as it's out, sometimes you lose interest and sell it to move onto the next one. It's happened quite a few times and I think people see that and get angry because their were better choices to begin with. You have every right to do what you please with your money it just seems irresponsible when so many other fans should be considered. Talking ____ on the people who want Pee-Wee is a prime example when you got virtually every figure you've wanted as RM's choice for the past 2 years, again I value that somtimes like when we get Alex and the Dude, but other times I see you review a brand new movie like Falling Down and then I do start to worry that this is going to turn into the next RM obsession we'll all have to suffer through. Sorry to say it just being honest, since it seems you are in a posistion to help or aid RM much like Santa Jack and Zuno, and I've said it before, I just wish you'd be a little more impartial like they were.

Oh god Teddy gimme a break, we all gave input the same way you do on all of his projects. You actually have the audacity to say let RM pick his projects?

You've been the literal Tom Cruise taking him to Vegas for your own personal gain the past two years. Let the rest of us have our choice for a time being and be happy.

it does seem to me that rainman likes the input. otherwise he could easily go the serang route, which is brutally uncompromising (and therefore i agree more personal art than a commission). he did to some extent with the ra's project. he's an adult, he can make his own decisions on how he wants to work.

i'm actually kinda sad this had to happen over rainman's work. i've been accused of being "jealous" of their relationship with rainman by both snake and teddy. i failed numerous times to convince them that i actually really don't care, tried to make amends but had it thrown back in my face. it's certainly killed my enjoyment for rainman's work - i lost 2 friends over this ____ and feel the air of bad blood from the politics in every thread. pretty ____ty business.
