Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

I would be cool if rainman in addition to doc's fancy clothing gave us the poncho and the long johns to create the Ok Corral look if we wanted to, but if I had to choose between the two I'd choose his fancy Cup twirling outfit.

That sums of my outlook for it. BUT I really would be fine with either outfit choices, cup twirler is just my pref. The red waistcoat 'you may proceed, sir' is also very cool.

OH FINE!!! i can see this is a bloody conspiracy! you guys have whatever outfit you want... since i can't have what i want, i am now going to smear this entire thread with sour grapes, and then rub my bum all over the screen. good day to you all!

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

I know what your saying is all in good fun but its post like this that continue to fuel flames and cause a rift between members. I can see why some guys were tight over Rainmans choice. Myself included. Rainman only gets to make a handful of figures a year and that makes them very special. So of course expectations are high on every new release and people have hopes that something they love will be touched by him. Myself included! :lol

All we can do is post and hope our voice is heard even when you might feel like only some are acknowleged. In the end its Rainmans choice. I guess I can be glad I can take a break from this release and focus work with other great talent from the board. Kudos to all who wanted this figure. I have no doubt it will be a gem. Just truly hope it wont be a series. Time is valuable and Im looking forward to seeing other film characters made. (YES PEE WEE!) In my opinion if any film series deserved to have continued by Rainman it should have been the Big Lebowski. I'd kill for a Rainman Walter!

i know how you feel, man. no disrespect meant. i have much love for yourself and turbo, and i love your figure choices, but being honest i think turbo overreacted in this instance. i didn't mean to fan the flames, and i'm sorry if i did. it was just my reaction to something i felt was a bit ludicrous.

tombstone IS an iconic film, rainman started the ssf thing with western figures (and imo are still his most impressive), so there's nothing really shocking about this choice. he's fairly new to rainman so it's understandable he doesn't know people wanted to see rainman's take on tombstone ever since GBU. of course we can all come up with a ton of films we want to see a series of rainman figures from. but we get what we get. no need to get upset over it.

i'll admit, i have also in the past thought teddy and snake (let's act like men and say who we mean, hey gents?) were being influential in the figure choices. i don't know if it's true. i don't care. if rainman makes something i like i'll get it. if he doesn't, two tears in a bucket mother-ahem it. man, sometimes this hobby is like trying to find naked pictures of teletubbies on the internet. strange, emotional, disturbing, obsessive, and never 100% rewarding.

Actually that would be a great look, cup twirler with the red waistcoat,I don't recall him using that combo in the movie but I'm sure many of us want to re-create the I'll be your huckleberry scene and he should still come with the coat.

I really do think Doc deserves an alternate outfit such as the poncho and Long johns( That's what they are right?), I mean considering the price this is going to be some extra clothing Isn't a lot to ask for.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

...and yet, if we were supposedly 'influencing' choices, it was never an issue when they were mega popular with everyone right?

:hi5:

Have to say, after this piece is secured, I am done from this forum and assistance with rainman for good. Not worth the hassles here any more.

(prepared for onslaught of 'yes he will be leaving ha ha, etc' posts) :duff

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

As I stated before I have only ever put forward suggestions. I have never told him what to do or influenced the decision. Rainman always makes the call.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Re: Extra clothing. I can say that this will only drive the price higher. I think the complex cup twirling outfit plus guns will be expensive to produce. Whilst it would be lovely I also appreicate the cost to Rainman.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

..also Rainman works fast, before you know it he will be working on his next figure and it will probably the one you wanted.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

Fellas, enough with the spam already. I can assure you no one is mad here! Im just sharing that the only thing I remember about this film was Doc Hollidays Hat and Kurt Russell's fake mustache. I mean it's a western, for Gods Sake grow a real Mustache! Why are people getting defensive. I haven't even decided whether I feel like getting this or not, I'm just not running to the bank at the moment if you catch my drift. For some this is a grail piece, but don't get all red in the face because I thought the movie Sucked! End of Story!

Oh and how can we forget this Epic No!

Hilarious, and oh so true...:lol :clap

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

I think the Cup Twirling outfit is the way to go. It represents his look for most of the movie and how he really dressed daily.

:exactly: Rainman, I think you know what must be done.

..also Rainman works fast, before you know it he will be working on his next work and it will probably a great Bill Paxton from Aliens sculpt.
Man makes a good point. A damn good point.

On another note Dr.Huckleberry is cool project name ..but I think Skinny Lunger or Drunk piano player would have been funny titles.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

These arguments if they can be considered that are like the entertainment intro before the first sculpt photos. I didn't catch on to Rainman's stuff until later on but when I was first looking around his threads they never seemed to be so hostile. I think it's amazing people are criticizing Rainman's choice when he's taking the time before hand to consider all his options.

Everyone seems to fight over his choice like it's the last life boat on the Titanic.

It is pretty ridiculous, especially when you consider how fast these projects come and go,and if your a collector for life I don't see the reason to complain!:dunno Rainman will probably get to the character you want eventually(If the interest is there, and he likes it himself) either as an official release or as a colab project. I don't plan to be collecting for much longer so I was extra thrilled that Doc was announced, sure I will miss out on some great figures when I leave the hobby but at least I got my Doc Holliday.

As you can see in this photo, it's a collarless shirt. The shirt collar was a separate piece back then.

Re: Rainmans New Project: Dr. Huckleberry

I think talk of an extra outfit is pie in the sky if I am being honest. This is going to cost alot to produce so if we were to get an extra outfit that cost will need to be passed down and I really don't want that :monkey1
