I hear ya. You say to me 'Regan...The Exorcist' and the first picture to form in my mind is something like this:

.....the 'fresh cuts & crucifix thrust' look trails in a long way behind:

(although, if it is this stage of possession Rainman is going to plump for, I'd presume the actual sculpt would be based on the reversed head, 'You know what she did?', Regan).

Obviously, being a big fan of the film, I'd find it hard to resist any version buuuuut....not being from the latter Exorcism section and missing that iconic, frilly, filth fronted, night gown? Bit of a bummer.

Maybe he could do a two in one:
use the first face ( above) for the head spin figure
Then offer a blue nightgown version ( same head) as a stand alone figure.
I think that would be awesome.

That is a horrifying part of the movie , he really isn't holding back. This is going to be one tormented piece. I guess if your going to do the Exorcist you go balls out! I have a feeling this will not be an open order , way too much paint apps and details. This might be a complete fast sell out and Lees smallest edition size to date.

Well that explains that! Home brewed body....and it looks like hes been cranking away at this for awhile. I welcome any version of Reagan. Whatever Lee feels like doing is fine with me because he really looks like he's enjoying making this one as if it's just for him. Love it!

Bravo! :clap

My thoughts exactly. The crucifix scene is pretty F'd up, but then so is the premise of the movie. If I had to choose, like everyone else it seems, I'd go with the later Regan with the blue nightgown. It's more iconic without a doubt. Backwards head Regan w/crucifix sounds awesome too though TBO.

Isn't a crucifix a must have accessory for regan?? Doesn't really mean it's going to be the F me scene.

I'm buying... I wasnt, but screw it. It would be great of of Lee if he limited this to a very small run. All or nothing type ish... DX, bed and all w/ Regan, small run -- you are in, or you are out.

It's looking like this is going to be interpretive more so than scene specific. I hope he doesn't take too many liberties and steer away from the original source material (figure style chosen hopefully matches accuracy in scene to sculpt, clothing, pose etc.)

The levitation was so possible with the magicians plank idea though. Damn! :dunno
The crucifix masterbation is not the most iconic but it definately is the most contraversial scene, and that's edgy and cool too. I still kinda see the possibility of wingspan movement so maybe it's not the crucix masterbation scene :dunno. The hand gesture is what's throwing me off. I'm trying to figure out where Rainman referenced that.
Anything Exorcist is a go......start putting away those pennies now, this looks almost finished :lol

I'm pretty sure he's been working on this simultaneously with other stuff but yea he's a machine. No one can start and finish like him.
Rainman said F Hottoys, I'm making my own bodies now! This the new wave!

YEESSSSSSSSS!!!!! I can't believe he's going all out and scratching building an articulated body!! I never loved the idea of the Obitsu bodies (even if modded) but I liked the idea of a statue much less so it was the best "lesser of all evils" option. He just went with the best option possible! :rock

ok...having just given RM a compliment on his Overlook caretaker thread...I gotta say that for this current project...this is underwhelming me so far....and that does not stem from the material this is derived from but more so on his " possible take". This is one of the problems I have always seen when artists ask what should be their next project be and then take some possible liberties against the fans wishes...not that he has given an inclination that he will do that but if he is just including the cross just to have an additional accessory to the list...cool..as long as the custom is not primarily from that scene because the scene that this may be associated with and maybe just the potential lack of accessories may not work in his favor... adding the iconic accessories like a bed or the memorable blue night gown may have set this apart for RM yet again...he hit gold, sheeeet...damn near platinum status with projects that he chose to listen to his audience (Taxi driver/Overlook caretaker)....I have been gauging to see the hype on this and while its nowhere near the two previously mentioned customs....this could still be a banger for RM if he finds a way to include those items mentioned...of course...this doesn't mean I will be ordering this but I am watching this with a close eye...:lecture

Little liberties like that aren't anything new for him. He's include accessories that were either inaccurate in some way or not scene/look specific before. I'm not a big fan of that and I prefer relevant items that pertain to the look, but sometimes it's not the worst thing (i.e. Doc's cup or Dude's mirror). If it's something inaccurate that takes the place of another more necessary item, then that wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.

The articulated body was more important than almost anything else IMO so I think he's got that main major hurdle covered. At this point as long as he goes with the blue nighty, full possession make-up iconic look and includes the bed, I won't mind if he adds in things that are technically out of place like the crucifix, ouija board or even "Help Me" on the torso.

My only concern is the way the arms attach to the body (same way as the Grady girls). It doesn't seem like the can articulate laterally very well, and that's a range of motion that's needed to be tied to the bed or levitating

With the shoulders sculpted onto the upper arm the way they are, I don't think those looks would work, no matter how the arms are attached..

Yup. I tried it with the Grady's and there's no way that's happening. They don't even raise and lower in front of them very well.

If he is going to keep that little 90° return for the shoulder, the only thing I can think of that may work is if he makes a space (cut out) on the top of the torso that would allow that lateral motion. That would at least work if the arms are tied and kept in place but the elastic string will hinder it from holding the pose on it's own (i.e. levitation)

this may answer some of the above questions or concerns about the body.. appears again it is entirely custom.
