This might be his first 100% custom figure! Didn't he say a while back that he was planning on building his own standard sized 1/6 body? I guess this is a step in the this direction.

Those hands........are they supposed to give off the illusion of possession? Sonthing doesn't vibe well about it. I'm also worried about how well that string tension on the ball jointed body will hold up before those areas begin to start to get loose and make the figure flimsy. Posing too much will certainly hurt that custom body's string strength.
It's really starting to look like a figure loosely based on the film. The custom body is great but he needs to consider the subject matter for purposes of film accuracy. I'm still trying to figure out what he's basing his work on. If it the Crucifix masterbation than I'm a bit worried that he won't get the blood "drip" weathering placement convincingly enough for a large run of figures. Without the deep wounds sculpted on the face, Rainman's going to have to rely on painting that blood pattern on each figure sculpt and that can pose all kinds of problems because the blood pattern MUST be painted correctly and consistently enough to match what it looked like in the film.

I'm with turbo, how well are those joints going to hold up over time is the real question....
Although you have to give the man props for totally customizing the whole body.
Not getting what is going on with the hands though,
as turbo said this may be a more stylized version or adaptation of the movie.
Who is the main voice reiterating things to Lee? Anyone? or is he just getting all reference and ideas by himself?
Also, arent the vast majority rooting for blue gown and not the masturbation scene? why choose something people are not hoping for is the real question. as my buddy Alex hilariously put it.... is he going to sculpt the, you know....

I don't think anything was said or shown to confirm this is based on the early stages as opposed to the blue PJs look.
I think the body will hold up fine, especially for adult collector handling. I'm sure people won't be "playing" with this every day. Plus this isn't too different than the way a lot of his heads are connected, and I never heard of a reported issue with that

That blood placement and "drip" is going to be an issue. It cannot be sloppy painted on like the Bill V2 pig head accessory. There were too many inconsistencies with how the blood weathering was done that didn't match the film pattern closely enough. For an accessory I won't mind but for a full figure the blood weathering MUST be handled/painted correctly and accurately.
I thought that may have been in the early stages of the idea and not a picture of what he planned to base it on specifically. He's asking there for ideas and saying that opinions are welcome. Sometimes that's the problem with the disconnect between the artist and source material like we see with customizers like Rainman and Iminime. The die hard fans with sharp eyes know every square millimeter of detail when it comes to accuracy, and when artists are running a business and making figures of characters from movies they aren't too familiar with, "liberties" happen

Looks like he's doing the white nightgown version to me. I'd rather have the blue dress, but the backwards head pose with the crucifix would be pretty cool.

Patriot...you need the bed to get that full scene as well....think about it....everything that was memorable about that movie revolved around the bed....levitation....pea soup vomit...masturbation scene....head spinning scene....really....RM should have checked all his avenues of where he gets ideas to really get a sense of what people may want...

I totally agree with you Levit. If this is the look he's going for I was just assuming we'd get the bed too. It's essential. The only substitute would be a set of stairs with Regan crawling down them backwards, and that doesn't leave much flexibility for posing options. I hope we get the bed with cloth linens.

I seriously would love it if he offered a dual pack Crucifix masturbation and Levitation possessed Reagan as a grand package exclusive offering. We really need both looks. Maybe the latter can be more static with just the wingspan and torso articulation, and with the sculpted deep wound classic makeup on face/legs with sculpted "tippy toes" static legs for levitation pose. The levitation is all worked out with the magicians plank theory.

Lee will be sticking to single figure releases from now on I am pretty sure.... Dull Boy stressed him and his boss out alike. they do not want that much of a workload per release ever again. So I think Regan will be single figure release - but ya never know.

I don't foresee Regan's numbers selling anything astronomical....but I do see it going the usual 860-1000 route...with the exclusion of what seems to be the "essentials" like the bed and the blue night gown....RM will swing and miss....sculpt will prolly be awesome tho....don't see too many H+C sets since this will be a child character...sooo....interested to see the outcome of this...
I think the open order thing was a bit much. I do think that he should increase the size of his runs a little, but I have to say that I was surprised to see the end numbers. I definitely didn't think that there were 45 people ready to drop $2600 on the GP, and after that there still being demand enough left for 32 FS. That is a ton of work. He may have been stressed but it definitely doesn't show in the product
Chances are there won't be the usual options of packages since it won't be tailored to fit an available body. I bet he's do something simple like bed or no bed
